I'm glad Nets fans agree that Richard jefferson is the Eddy Curry of SFs. But yea, anyone who bashes Carter just fails to realize that he plays for the freaking Nets. They are irrelevant fanbase-wise. I live in NJ, and I know about like 4 Nets fans, everyone I know is a Knicks fan and we are terrible. If Vince Carter was playing on a team that actually got publicity, he would still be a media darling. And I love the Phili fans who are bashing him, considering you could take Iggy off Phili, and put Vince on that team and they are SIGNIFICANTLY better.

I wouldn't call him the Curry of SF's but he's just not as important as Carter . Yes he's scoring 22 PPG but he's only good in the flow off the game if the ball runs through him it's not working .

Rebounding isn't his problem its more passing and ball handling .
He doesn't get as much rebounds as he used to but in the Nets system he's the guy to run the fast break while the others get the rebound .

Personally I think he's been the most under the radar player this year. He started the season off slowly thanks to injury (and recently was shut down by Nets management thanks to that same injury), but he slowly and surely recovered his form as the season progressed.

It seems like people discount him or think he's done because he doesn't have a top 10 dunk on a nightly basis anymore.

Well, if he had been putting up those type of numbers for the half decade, he obviously wouldn't be discounted.

Carter forced his way back into the lineup for this game against TDot.

On one leg, in obvious pain, he dropped 32/7/5/2/1 tonight
facing constant double teams.

iono maybe it was jus this year with the kidd situation had him playin not as motivated. since the trade hes been playing great.

if he is still in NJ next year, and we are in the top 3-4 in the east dont be suprised if his name pops up in MVP voting.

Actually he's not. Pierce attacks the basket looking for contact and for a trip to the line. Carter attacks the lane looking to avoid contact and finish. It's a fine and very subtle line, but if VC had the same mindset as PP, Jefferson, or Maggette, he'd be scoring in the 30s every year.

Vince takes a lot of difficult shots, both in the lane as well as jump shots. It's insane that his FG% for his career is where it is at given the degree of difficulty of his shots. It's a testament to his sheer physical ability and talent.

My take on Carters sudden outburst, He doesn't have Jason Kidd, hes the undisputed no.1 option, he has no pressure to produce and the Nets are not going to make the playoffs. So he has free reign on all offensive possession he will produce the talent and skill is still there but the exprectations are very low.

I think it was primarily health wise. He, and the Nets as a whole, were starting to play better right before Kidd got traded.
