Don't talk crap when you're team barely made it to the playoffs. I'm just stating my opinion but I hate when people start taking it to this type of level which just turns into arguments. You know you aren't stating an opinion for the Rockets when you say what you said. I don't appreciate it, I just expect the Hawks to get blown out by the truly determined Celtics. I don't mean that you guys will be the only ones either to get blown out.

Jemini80 wrote:the only reason this thread holds weight and isn't seen as attacking a franchise is because the Braves couldn't sell out their playoff games. However this was because the Braves made the playoffs for about 14 straight years. This will be the Hawks first playoff game since idk when. I'm sure it will be full of either their fans or fans of the other team. I mean when the Knicks come the place is still pretty full with Knick fans even though we are a disgrace to the WNBA right now.

I believe even NJ couldn't sell out their stadium in the FINALS. So I'm not holding my breath waiting for the Hawks to sell out (unless maybe its the Cavs, since people would want to see Lebron).

We have been the laughing stock of the league for a decade and people are still trying to get as many shots in as they can.

But that's alright. As the team with the 2nd brightest future in the entire league with our young roster, these jokes will go away.

And as aging teams like Detroit, Boston, and the OP's Suns fall by the wayside, turnabouts will be fair play

There are 10 teams with worse attendance than the Hawks this year. Ten.

Stupid topics like this one are what you get in a world where ESPN runs the show.

i think sunsfever made this thread thinking it will be a bashing fest like the other topic "how would you fix the atlanta hawks". obviously that thread was a success in attempt in bashing the hawks and this thread is a failure...thus far.

Most Atlanta people don't care about the Hawks, but I would guess sellouts if they make it to the second round (highly unlikely).

What? Your level, your original comment was intended, as a cheap shot towards the hawks at least be man enough to admit it. Do not try to be the nice guy when someone takes exception to your cheap shots.

In addition, you follow it up another shot,

"Don't talk crap when you're team barely made it to the playoffs"

Then follow it up with you nice guy act,

"I don't mean that you guys will be the only ones either to get blown out."

Ugg give it a rest.

Hawks average 16,120 fans per game. More than New Jersey and Philly this season. Why not post a thread about their fans not showing up for the playoffs?

Wow, talk about a cheap shot with a weak foundation.

This dude's team in number 1 in the west and they still have 2,000 fewer fans per game than the Hawks who are number 8 in the east. Talk about the idiot calling the average guy a moron.

As far as the actual question goes, Atlanta is a big city with a lot of sports fans. There has been, understandably, a huge decrease in the number of consistent Hawks fans since the end of the Mookie/Mutumbo/Smith era. People will show for the playoffs though, it'll be a cool thing to do so people will do it.

I hope we can put up a few close/exciting games and turn some casual fans into hardcore ones.

Must we bicker amoungst ourselves? We need to unite and go Tonya Harding on the Celtics before they become NBA tyrants that rule the NBA with propaganda and martial law.

Yes, they will sell out. They sold out Thrashers playoff games last season, why wouldn't they sellout Hawks playoff games?
