Playoffs - Hornets, Spurs or Lakers

Post#1 » by IggyTheBEaST » Sun Apr 6, 2008 7:46 pm

If the Nuggets get intot he playoffs, which team would you WANT to play against in the first round?

The Hornets have the best record with Chris Paul and David West
(plus one of the leagues best shooters and the best offensive rebounder)

The Spurs knocked the Nuggets out last year

The Lakers have one of the most talented teams in the league

I doubt Nene could go 25+ minutes, but we'll see...

I think he could, but he might need to hibernate afterwards. I don't know, what's wrong with having him play....let's say 20 minutes every other game?

Something inside of me wants the Spurs, but they have definetely had our number in a series. I think if we could knock them off it could carry us through another round or two. Ideally the Hornets would be our best shot at an upset because it is or would be new ground for them, but I just don't see them falling off in the playoffs and we don't have an answer for CP3. The Lakers have had our number this season, but we should have won a game or two against them, but it seems like the powers that be want a Lakers vs. Celtics matchup, so I would like to avoid that series in the first round if possible.

I don't care, but I would prefer the Spurs. If the Nuggets could beat them in the 1st round, that would give them a full head of steam the rest of the way with high confidence. I also think the Nuggets have a better chance against the Spurs or Hornets in the 1st tround than the Lakers.

Just not the Spurs. I'd like to play Hornets, due to them being inexperienced during the playoffs.

you shouldn't make the mistake and call them inexpirienced... cp3 and chandlers po-exp isn't very high but peja is a deadly shooter who will know how to make the game deciding shot in the last second :-?

i still believe we can beat them in 7!

me too, Spurs. They look like the dream finally came true. They're too old, hope so. (saying this for like three years?) Hornets could seem to be unexperienced, but CP3 is **** gay. (sorry, last time they won at Orlando he screwed my bet worth of around 150 USD)
I mean the best PG since Magic. Also, they have plenty of shooters and we could know how good are Nuggets when defending three point line

Spurs.

I'll take Duncan and Nene/Kenyon match up over CP3 and Carter or Kobe and AI.

I think the Spurs would be the best matchup. I think we can finally pull out of the first round if we play them. And we might be able to beat the Hornets if all of our bigs are healthy.

Carter and AI guarding Kobe and Fisher would be a nightmare.
