Mavs will play LA or Utah. I'd prefer Utah. They're terrible on the road. Plus, Kidd can stay with Deron Williams better than Kobe.

We can't leapfrog Phoenix and Houston by season's end in order to play Utah. Utah will be the 4th seed more than likely. With one win by Utah or one loss by Denver and Utah clinches the division title. The way I see it with Utah is 2 and a half games from being in the 3rd seed theoretically. That means the Lakers or San Antonio falls. But, if San Antonio falls, Houston is there to take its place and they could still have a better record than Utah. Same with the Lakers falling and Phoenix taking their place. Utah is just cemented in 4 and needs some serious help in the last five games in order to move up. I don't see it happening. Thus, we don't play Utah in the first round and probably not at all in the playoffs...

Lakers, it would be interesting. It's time to exorcise our demons of seasons past... Whoever we get, we'll upset them terribly. This team is primed and ready to explode...

I don't think one (just one) game with the old look mavs means we have their number with the new look mavs.

We need any combination of 3 Dallas wins and GSW losses or 4 Dallas wins and Denver losses to make the playoffs.

Win 1 Seattle
Win 2 @ Portland
Win 3 @ Seattle

As long as we beat the teams we are supposed to beat, we are in the playoffs. Utah and New orleans are just gravy and helps clinch 7th seed.

As long as we win 3 and Golden State beats Denver, we're in as the 7th seed. It's as simple as that. If we win 4 and regardless of the Golden State/Denver outcome, we clinch at least 7th seed outright.
