Both teams deny that trade.
Odom might help the Warriors, but he's going to be on the last year of his contract. Trading their #2/#3/4 options for a 3rd option wouldn't be wise. I think Odom's trade value is up, but not two starters value.
As for the Lakers, why do we need more depth? We don't need Harrington with Gasol...and he sucks on D. Jackson would be the only reason to do this trade, and he has his share of problems that Odom doesn't have.

Lamar owns Al Harrington. If he was able to face him for 82 games, Lamar would average 20 points and 20 rebounds.
There is no need for Stephen jackson because we already have Kobe at SG.

Cheers.

This trade could go down with or without Ariza being involved.
Basically,
Stephen Jack for Odom is what makes sense position wise. However we can't have both Odom and Harrington because they are redundant. A lot of warriors fans would probably say no to Jack and Harrington for Odom, but personally I would be all about it.
Contrary to popular opinion, Harrington is actually a good defender. Although hes not a great shop blocker, he fights hard for position, denies the ball, and does a great job of sealing off the lane by taking charges. He destroys Yao every time he faces him. His weakness on defense is that he is not a great rebounder.
Offensively, he has a much better 3 pt shot than Odom. He can't create or finish like odom, but he is very effective off the ball. This also makes him a liability in our offense where everyone is asked to create for themselves.

With all due respect, what a weak statement!
Laker fans have always appreciated what Lamar brings to the table.....if he brought it consistently. He has been bringing it consistently since the All-Star break and those of us who have criticized him in the past, have been very vocal in our support for him. I think Lamar will both mezmorize and frustrate his teammates and fans anywhere he plays.
As for this proposed trade, I'd keep Lamar and Ariza. They fit our system better and give us what we need....defense and rebounding.
Jackson and Arrington are thriving because they play in a wide open system with constant opportunities to score. Jackson is a fair defender but isn't better than Ariza in that department.
I'd say no to this trade.

I would not make a major move this off season regarding Odom unless it was completely lop-sided where management had to take the deal. Let's see what this core group of players (fish, kobe, lamar, pau, and Bynum) can do in a full season together. I'll admit that when Lamar was our second option, I wanted him to be traded for pennies on the dollar. But as a 3rd or 4th option, he's a great player to have. He really is the "glue" for this team. He can come in and just let the game come to him, and be the blue-collared player that keeps this team moving. He can come in and rebound, drive, score, pass. And for the first time since becoming a laker, he is not chucking up ill advised threes. Even when open he understands he has a better shot of scoring if he drives to the rim. Which is the main reason why he is having the best season since becoming a laker. Hopefully he'll want to stay in LA bad enough to where he will restructure his contract and take a pay cut so we can max out Bynum.

Stephen Jackson would be a great fit on the floor for us, no doubt about it. His defense has been all league this season and he's a great shooter to open things up even more for the Kobe-Pau or Kobe-Bynum two man games. Jackson is a better defender than Ariza in my opinion, though Ariza is good.
Having said that I don't want to trade Lamar the way he has been playing since the Gasol trade, so I'd pass. It is a pretty good offer though.

Once Bynum is back, your frontcourt is going to look a little bit crowded. Stephen Jackson gives you the true "3" that can lock down the opposing teams best scorer, and hit the three ball consistently. Al Harrington would also fit in nicely in the Triangle, and give you a versatile front court man.
Odom and Ariza are two players that fit better in an up tempo free flowing offense.
No need to resort to insults. Consider this a warning.

Does this mean you're a non-laker fan?
