Who do you think is most deserving of MVP?
In my opinion its Chris Paul, because of what hes done to New Orleans and how hes made Chandler, Peja and David West have their career years. Also hes averaging a double double while able to take control of games whenever his team needs him to step up. Not only does he average 11 assist but with the 3rd highest TO to assist ratio. 21 PPG, on a high shooting percentage at 49%. He's improved in like every statistical category from his previous years till now. How can you beat that? He also leads the league in steals per game. Thats 2 categories. From not making the playoffs last year to 1st in the west this year. That is an MVP. Turning the whole team around. At age 22, Chris Paul is the leader of this team and the face of the franchise and city.
Although I like Kobe, I don't really think hes that worthy. Even after the Gasol trade he's been pretty selfish still taking alot of shots and he has been a little less selfish over the years but not enough to show significant improvement. Theres a reason all this time Kobe hasen't won an MVP yet, because of his selfish attitude and how he doesn't really trust his teammates say like how T-mac does with his players. Not taking a slight at kobe, still a fantastic player but this year was Pauls year. Also Kobe has alot of support behind him. Farmar is a good bench player, Turiaf is that energy guy off the bench, Bynum+ Gasol is one of the best back courts in the league but alot of credit is going to kobe and not alot to the supporting cast and bynum who has developed ALOT.
Meh, I know the Laker fans will hate me after this. I'm ready to take the criticism.

David West got 18/8 last season with Paul not being nearly as good. Now he gets 19/9. Oh wow, big difference! Last season West shot a higher percentage and this season he gets more than 1 more shot attempt per game.
2 years ago, David West's PER was IDENTICAL to what it is this season. That season (2005-06) West averaged 17/7
Seems to me, people who want to be honest will have to admit the trend seems to have nothing to do with Paul and everything to do with West's own natural improvement.
But of course, I don't expect people to look at facts when they can spin the situation in favor of Paul.
Look at Tyson Chandler:
Last year, he averaged more rebounds, blocks and shot a higher percentage than he does this year. This year he's averaging two more points while taking an extra shot per game.
BOTH TYSON CHANDLER and DAVID WEST had a higher PER last year than Lamar Odom does THIS SEASON. Put that into persective when you talk about Kobe's "superior" supporting cast.
And Peja was a frontrunner for League MVP himself, this is not his "career year."
I won't even address your rant on Kobe because you can't even make an accurate argument for Paul.

I don't know. Last I checked, he played on a team almost as bad as Boston last year and didn't make the playoffs.
Call me stupid, but you know what I think changed the culture in Boston? Getting a bunch of new players, two of them superstars.
If KG transformed LAST year's Boston Celtics Roster into the best team in the league, then sure...MVP, hell GOAT...but if Garnett wants to prove what he's done to transform Boston, let's see if he'll lead the most talented team to the title this year.
And not to be a sourpuss, but Boston did go 7-2 (.777) without their best player. Suffice to say, they would've surpassed last season's performance (.293) by alot even without garnett.
