I don't really want this to turn into another top pg thread but, yeah those guys are all better than him so thats 5.
Tony Parker is better than him
So is AI
Calderon certainly has an argument (insanely efficient numbers).
So does Miller (leading the sixers to wins where Kidd couldn't lead the Nets to wins, better numbers too)
So I think that at best he is the 8th best and at worst the tenth best but he doesn't have an incredibly strong argument against any of these guys.

Jason Kidd is average in general, and often does mediocre with star players on the other side. Lately has been playing well though, props to him for stepping up.
In man-to-man defense against other point guards / quicker players, yes. Kidd's help defense is still better than Deron's as is his ability to guard bigger and more crafty players...
Kidd, when his heart was into it, post microfracture surgery was always a solid help defender and had success against players taller than him to a point, but to say that the team became worse defensively after he left and trying to make it look as if Harris has something to do with that is a tad bit dishonest NF, the team was already atrocious defensively even when Kidd was here, i really don't see any difference between the garbage defense as a whole the Nets have been playing pre or post trade.
The team isn't as in sync defensively since Kidd left that's all I was getting at. Both Kidd and Harris play good defense, they just play different types of defense.

Miller and the Sixers are an interesting bunch... Since I go to school around Philly I get to see a lot of them and while some people aren't going to like this... Everytime I see them play I'm less and less convinced that they're for real.

Aside from his quickness(which is how he scores most of his points) how is tony parker better than kidd??
Kidd is a better 3pt shooter, FT shooter, better rebounder, defender, passer.
AI is a SG..
Andre miller is NOT a better PG and I don't even have to argue that...
And Calderon is Fords backup for a reason...not dissing his game because he really good at what he does.

You don't really make a strong argument for any of those guys, and certainly not a definitive one.
Calderon is Ford's backup because he came out and said that he'd back up Ford for the good of the team after it became obvious that Ford could not succeed in a backup role even though Calderon was outplaying him.
You may not think you have to argue Dre' Miller but he's leading a team by playing his style of ball. He's scoring a good bit of points on good efficiency and he's a solid defender. There isn't a super-strong argument that Kidd is better.
Parker's quickness is all he needs to be better than Kidd. Again, good defender, solid distributor, dangerous scorer. He may not have as high of a bball IQ but it doesn't make him a worse player, his quickness is truly elite.
If you want to consider AI the SG and Carter the PG, that's fine by me but AI runs the offense for at least half a game. Its definitely an argument.
Anyway, regardless of how you view the guys that are near the same level as Kidd, he is not the same player he used to be. He's still good and productive but its fairly obvious that he's declined which was my point originally (not where exactly he stands among today's point guards).
