Cleveland - hurt the most by injuries this year?

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Tue Apr 8, 2008 12:40 am

according to lebron, no team has suffered the injuries that the cavs have.

"I know every team has injuries, but no team has had the injuries that we've had this year," James said. "We don't want to be an excuse team, because we've never been that."

i'd have to go with the wizards who lost arenas for most of the year, thomas all year, and butler on and off all year. also the kings who's season was over before it even started with injuries to bibby/artest/martin. lakers lost bynum, mihm, and ariza for over half the season, with kobe and fisher playing through torn ligaments/tendons. the blazers lost greg oden before he even played a game and last but not least on my list is the clippers who lost brand and livingston all year, lost kaman for almost 30 games, lost magz about 10 games, lost mobley a few games, lost their first big off the bench davis all year, and lost thomas for about 15 games.

Wizards certainly have a case. I could argue for my Rockets as well, but Washington definitely wins.

Sure they lost a lot of players , but then of them were really impact players ( except big z )

My top 3 for this year are

1. Clippers ( if they were healthy , i really believe they could have been fighting for a playoff sports

2. Lakers

3. Wizards

I'm not even sure if the Cavs rank among the top 5 teams most ravaged by injuries this year...

maybe by injuries he meant the trade
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

I hate the way that Lebron contradicts himself in sentences.

i.e.
"I think we have more injuries than anyone this year.... but I don't want to make excuses"
"I don't want go down to Deshawn Stevenson's level and make petty insults.... but I'm like Jay-z and he's a scrub"
(paraphrasing of course)

1. Wizards
2. Rockets
3. Clippers

Anybody voting for the Lakers is tripping, their biggest loss was Bynum, the first half of the season the Rockets lost McGrady, the second half they lost Yao, if they aren't in the top 3 then the Lakers aren't in the top 5.

Maybe LeBron is just trying to soften up the fan base for the eventual playoff humiliation.

the cavs definitely havent been hit the hardest with injuries, its just that they can never completely develop a good chemistry because of all the nagging injuries (sprained ankles, back spasms, etc). it seems every week a new guy goes out with some sort of nagging injury that limits the team in a couple games. throw in the trade and the idiots holding out at the beginning of the year and the team has just been in a constant state of flux the whole season while never developing a consistent rotation

I completely forgot about them at first, but the clippers by far.

i mean livingston, brand, kaman, cassell, whoever their back-up center was that tore his ACL...

honorable mention to the wizards

Lebron probably only knows his team exists, the cavs are only him, so if he don't gets injured they are fine.

The Clippers have. Brand and Livingston out all year. Kamen hurt off and on all 2nd half of the year.

In no particular order, the Clippers, Kings, Lakers, Heat (even before the tanking), Wizards, Rockets and Raptors have had worse problems with injuries. I'm sure there are others, as well.

Edit: and the Bobcats, if one considers May and Morrison to be major losses.

please lebron shut your damn mouth

the rockets are missing Yao and won 10 games in a row without him IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE

if there was a team who is hurt the most has to be the rockets.

edit: actually poor clippers have had it worse, brand, kaman, livingston

and then wizards come at a close 2nd with arenas missing half the season and butler going in and out

end thread

LeBron complaining again? Give me an example where he complained like a bitch? Haters are funny.
