We want the Lakers. It's our best chance to advance.
Yes the Lakers may be a stronger team than the Jazz but not against us.

Any series where we will have an advantage at point guard, or atleast not a clear disadvantage at point guard, we should welcome. And guess what? only two teams dont have point guards that would school Rafer; Lakers and Nuggets and we aint facin the nuggets.

On top of that, Battier will be at his best; his skills wont go to waste. Battier using all his D on Kirilenko doesnt do much to Utah.

And yes, I know Kobe will be defending Mcgrady like no other, but between using all that energy on D and having Battier cover him all game I cant see him shooting well at all

Lakers with a healthy Gasol/Bynum + Kobe > Rockets.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

don't be delusional, their front court will destroy our front court and kobe will be running circles around each of our players.

the jazz are our best shot and the second round would also be easier because the winner will play the winner of NO vs golden state/nuggets which is better than facing the spurs/suns/lakers/mavs in the second round

first, who said Bynum will be on top of his game. he's missed so much time. secondly, i wouldn't fear Gasol that much. Scola is a very physical player and Gasol is not, that would work out to our advantage.

Maybe you guys don't agree, but to say im being delusional is not much of an argument. We're most likely gona face either LA, Phoenix, Spurs and Jazz. It would come down to the Jazz and LA on who we would rather face. I still think LA would be an easier match-up.

Are you kidding me? I would rather have the 2nd seed or something. I don't want to play the Jazz.

Deron Williams will run circles around Rafer. I'd say Rockets have a better shot at beating the Hornets but they will have to be content with Paul dropping 40 points per game on Rafer. Yes Rafer does suck that bad on D.

we are talking about realistic terms

i dont' see the hornets budging from the #1 spot and even if they do San Antonio is the closest team who can over take them

as for the 2nd seed, again it's either going to be San Antonio or the hornets and you can also make a case for Lakers

the 3rd seed we can't get unless we are divisional winners so we won't be able to take this spot at all

the 4th seed is also taken by the divisional winner jazz

so realistically we have a shot at the 5th seed as long as we stay .5 games ahead of the suns because i don't see the rockets beating them on their next game

I too want the rockets to get #1 or #2 seed but for that to happen the hornets and the spurs have to lose 2 more than the rockets which i don't see happening.

I don't think we'd really advance past the Jazz, but we'd likely have the best chance against them thinking on more realistic terms of teams we could face.

I think the Jazz series would be fun to watch again, it would be tough to get past the first round again, but we need the Tmac that played against them in the 2nd game of the season, where he dropped 47. He said there was no revenge game, but I'm pretty sure he was pissed off, plus he had his game face on all night.

I certainly want nothing to do with the Jazz AT the Energy Solutions Arena, that's for damn sure.

Sure I will take the Jazz if we can win one games at their home, which is highly unlikely. Aside from the Nuggets, I am not sure what'd be the best matchup for us. To be honest, I don't have a lot of faith without Yao. :(

i don't understand why people are fearing the jazz so much.

last year, the season wasn't decided until the last seconds of game 7 and that was with the rockets practically playing 2 on 10 basketball and with a coach who was dumb and had no go to plays with an overrated defense. Remember OUR BENCH COULDN'T SCORE AGAINST THEM AT ALL.

i like the chances against the jazz much better this season because they can't expose yao on defense anymore and i don't think they would have any answer for scolandry.

Also, we know everything about them because their only addition has been Korver and they also are missing a key player which was Fisher.

and i know t-mac will bring his A game because he wants to get out of the first round badly and what better to do it without yao.

this is rockets time, noone expected the 22 win streak, noone expected for the rockets to be battling for home court after yao went down, noone expected the rockets to even be in the playoff discussion but every single one of those people who said have been proving wrong.

I know playoffs are different but there is something magical about this team and no matter what the road looks like ahead of them they will find a way to come out victorious.

I don't see any matchup favor us in the west but as long as we don't face Phoenix I am pretty optimistic about our chance.

Return to Houston Rockets
