Bucks To Play In China

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Tue Apr 8, 2008 11:35 pm

The Milwaukee Bucks will travel to China this fall to play two pre-season games, according to a basketball source.

The presence of Yi Jianlian, the Bucks' top draft choice and a native of China, undoubtedly has something to do with the Bucks' fall travel plans.

An NBA spokesman declined to confirm the Bucks were headed to China.

"We will be announcing teams, dates and cities of our additional international games soon," said Matt Bourne, an NBA spokesman.

Despite a tough season, the Bucks are a well-known franchise in China because of Yi. The Bucks' trip also will likely serve as an opportunity for the Milwaukee business community to strengthen ties to China businesses.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think we can safely assume Yi won't be traded this summer. ;)

We will (hopefully) have a new coach and a new system, we will (hopefully) have a bunch of new players and we have to screw up our training camp by being a circus sideshow in China.

What's their source? I doubt Yi has anything to do with it.

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. I don't think Yi has anything to do with it either. It's probably because Stern wants to impress China with one of the best teams in the league and influence the citizens of the country to watch NBA basketball.

Right..I have actually been waiting to hear this since the day we drafted him. He's the only reason we were given any type of opportunity to go overseas.

Like it or not but Yi is probably a top 10 untouchable player in the league.

of all the things that might not be useful to your average chinese person, dictionaries in other languages would probably be pretty high on that list

If they were smart, the Bucks would be playing the Rockets, but the NBA is rarely smart.

Maybe GAD should coordinate "Bagnight II" with some of our Chinese posters.............

I'd love to see the look on Herbie's face sitting with some Chinese dignitaries........ :o

Not under any circumstances whatsoever, and his play will have nothing to do with it.
