I'll tell you I'm sick of the CJ experiment. He didn't do as bad as he has in some games, but why did he play practically the whole 4th quarter and was Monta kept out? I wish he'd try that with Baron (take him out for an entire 4th quarter and play CJ instead). That's the ultimate disrespect to Monta who's practically carried this squad the entire second half. He shot only 50% this game, I guess that's pretty bad for him (if only Baron and Jack could shot 50% on a regular basis). Just when I think it can't get any worse, he pulls a stunt like this. Don't tell me that it was because of CJ that we won, and had Monta played most of the 4th quarter minutes it would have cost us the game. lol

I don't understand why a couple of you just refused to acknowledge there's clearly a lack of effort there for Monta on D. It doesn't have anything to do with the defensive schemes or whatnot. I blamed this on Baron though because Monta's effort was actually a little better earlier this season, but then he saw Baron cruised through and he started to do the same.

Monta's defense got him benched?
He was being saved for the Denver game... the Kings were never seriously coming back.
He was missed some layups and wasn't even running the fast break, he was gassed... too funny that it was because of defense - who exactly was torching him? He was doing decently on Kevin Martin, and then Buke came in and got rained on... then CJ comes in and guards that fat stub Anthony Johnson... (he guarded K-Mart a few times and got torched)
Wow... I can't believe it, but I'm actually shocked that came out... Ellis and KMart (on each other) played each other damn well equally, and this is what you pessimists see?
Are you sure you wasn't watching the last Warriors/Kings game at the Oracle? I tell you, you have all the excuses for Tay's defense it makes me laugh. Tay is never held accountable. It's always someone else's fault right??????????????
Kmart had 27 by the end of the third with Tay guarding him the majority of the time, yet it was Buke and CJ who got rained on and torched.

Tell me about it. Luckily for us, more often than not he makes up for it on the offensive end.

We've got a coach who's basic philosophy is to outscore the opposition. If you can score more than the guy you are playing, then he's going to overlook you defense (or lack thereof).
With Nellie, defense has never been a priority. If it was, then he'd be playing more of his big shot blockers and less of his midget chuckers.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. I think CJ shouldn't get any playing time at all right now. I think BD and Tay should be each other subs. Either Buke/MP give BD or Tay a rest. Then whoever comes out, subs for whoevers on the floor. I hate seeing a backcourt of BD/Tay and CJ.

Do you know why almost every team plays a legit 4 with a legit 5 ? Because nobody can stop top of the key penetration anymore...Why do you think Monta and Baron get into the lane so easily? The only D than can stop those guys is shot blockers...The whole league can't stop Chris Paul..Yet you guys want Monta to become a super freak defender...
Get some f****g shot-blockers in there damnit!!..
Nellie's turning your defensive minds to mush.

Handcheck rules made everybody into a poor defender. And you can only accomplish so much by moving your feet when the league decreed this season that a tie goes to the ballhandler.
The league want's Bron, Wade and Melo getting to the rim. Dunleavy righteously stepping into the lane to take a charge does not sell throwbacks, and everybody apparently hated Starks grabbing jerseys and pushing.
Gary Payton could not be a HOF defender in this era. The game is rigged for guards to get blown by and guys to score at the rim.
When we have trouble scoring inside, it's not because of great defenders keeping us out of the paint, it's because of multiple big men protecting both sides of the lane so that we can't finish at the rim.
