Its been a slow music year for me so far, what are you guys listening to?
I like Hip-Hop(the more undergroundish stuff, not so much main stream), alternative, post-rock and R&B and a bunch of other stuff, I will listen to anything but country.
Ive been listening to Gnarls Barkley and Vampire Weekend right now.

Then I use to listen alternatice music, punk music (bad religion, rancid), black music (alicia keys, rihanna, lenny kravitz, sean paul).... i listen almost everything if it's good.
I love that new Alicia Keys CD...and while I dont listen to Rihanna ever she is hot...thats for sure.
Hey FJS I have question, is that what they call hip-hop/rap/r&b in europe? I only ask cuz my cousin who is in the czech took a picture of a bunch of music under the genre of black music. I found that funny that it wasnt listed as what genre it actually was.

Hip Hop - Have to go with Biggie, everything he ever made was classic. If you like "underground" hip-hop I am sure you know about Slug and Atmosphere, can't go wrong there either. RJD2 has some good music, Aesop Rock's latest album was cool.
New Wave - I listen to a lot of the Smiths/Morrissey and a ton of Joy Division.
Popular Music - As far as bands that get radio play I really like Modest Mouse, their first 5 albums are so are honestly pure genius, these last few are okay but nothing compared to their older stuff. Interpol might be my favorite band right now, they are simply great. Also check out Pinback, Built to Spill, and TV on the Radio if you want something a little different.

I absolutely love Atmosphere...Godlovesugly is one of my fav albums of all time. I really like Brother Ali out of that same label too. I picked up none shall pass, it was good, his other stuff is much better. I keep listening to my old Lupe, Immortal Technique, kanye...stuff like that.
I found this dude named Dizzee Rascal outta the UK whos cd was tight.
Biggie is great...Im more of a Pac guy though. Im more into that Bay area, chicago stuff:
blackalicious, gift of gab, lyrics born, the coup, pigeon john, Kanyes, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Rhymefest
and then some of the east coast classics like...Talib Kweli, The Roots, Mos Def
I dont know I got a weird taste in music...I listen to that kinda rap and then stuff like Rage, the shins, Radiohead, The Arcade Fire, Rooney, 311, Sublime.

Sheik, if you like vampire weekend much, I have a few other suggestions for you to check out...
Tokyo Police Club, The Teenagers, Cloud Cult, The Notwist, Les Savy Fav, The National.
As for the underground hip-hop scene, I can't help you much there. I like the occasional, like MF Doom, but I haven't gotten anything for like a year now. Pharoahe Monch is pretty good too. Check out his album from last year.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

I'm with Batron on Pinback and and Modest Mouse, The Sheik on radiohead and some of you others on underground hip-hop, but strictly underground. Groups like subtle.
But mostly i'm into alot of progressive/independent music, i.e. The Mars Volta, Between the Buried and Me, Thrice, The Dillinger Escape Plan.
Also Muse, Botch, Johnny Cash, Kansas, Keith Urban, some Dreamtheater...a whole array of crap.
