G Green not wanting to sign contract with Den thru next year
Sounds like he has his heart set on coming back to Houston. It was reported in ESPN Insider he was offer a contract thru next year with Denver but told them thanks but no thanks.

In an interview recently Morey said the coaching staff hated him for cutting Green, that they really looked forward to working w/Green. I wouldn't be suprised if they have an understanding that they'll bring him back, depending on the draft. If the Rockets draft a big they'll sign Green. If they draft a wing they'll give everyone a positive review of him.
Green may have turned down Denver if he thought the money was too low,or wasn't gauranteed.

Gerald Green should replace Luther Head.

Players in the mix for Denver
JONES IN MIX
The Nuggets are considering signing guard Dahntay Jones, averaging 25.3 points for the NBA Development League's Fort Wayne (Ind.) Mad Ants. Jones' agent, Mark Bartelstein, confirmed having talks with Nuggets executive Mark Warkentien, who recently saw a 37-point game by Jones.
The Nuggets soon are expected to sign a prospect for the rest of the season with a nonguaranteed deal for next season, and there are several candidates. A sticking point on Jones is Bartelstein doesn't "necessarily want to take (Jones) off the free-agent market."
The Nuggets have been looking for several weeks for a prospect to evaluate during the summer and have contract flexibility. One candidate, forward Gerald Green, doesn't seem willing to sign a deal that includes next season.

I was pissed that we cut him. It's way too early to give up on a 20 year old with star potential. Green could be a low risk, high reward investment in the right situation. I'm already loving our young core. Gerald would only add to it.

Uhh he's 21. It's his third year. I wouldn't exactly call that "forever". And he made progress from year 1 to year 2, he was just on a terrible Minnesota team this year, and they were already stacked with young talent at the wing positions. Houston's his home town. With T-Mac mentoring him, he can be baller. I watched him in Boston, andhe's definitely a good young player. All he needs is a little mentoring and coaching.
