tanking?..

Post#1 » by HarlemHeat37 » Wed Apr 9, 2008 9:03 am

with a Spurs-Lakers game coming up, and assuming both teams take care of the games they're supposed to win down the stretch, do any of you guys see either team tanking a game or two at the end, IF it could result in a possible 1st round series vs. the Rockets? or will it be too risky out West to do anything like that?..

this also depends on what the Jazz and Suns do of course, but hypothetically speaking here..

Eh, I doubt it. Dunno about the Lakers & Phil, but I know that Pop cares more about quality execution and overall level of play than seeding going into the playoffs. Tanking a game or two at the end of the season could kill any type of rhythm he's trying to establish, so I don't see it happening.

It is too risky... and I wouldn't mind having a 1st round match up vs the Nuggets once more. We will lose the first game and everyone will say that we are done and then we win the championship ;)

NBA is all about momentum...it would be stupid for either team to tank, it could do damage to the team's offense/defensive momentum.
