What was the best backcourt of all time?
Most people felt that the 1986 Celtics had the best frontcourt of all time. What was the best backcourt?

Magic/Norm Nixon/Michael Cooper
Winters/Moncrief/Pierce
Parker/Ginobli/Finley
Frazier/Monroe/Barnett
Gus Williams/Dennis Johnson/Freddie Brown
Isiah/Dumars/Vinnie Johnson
Kevin Johnson/Walter Davis/Jeff Hornacek
West/Goodrich/Riley
Van Lier/Sloan/Haskins
just a few that leap to mind; far from exhaustive list nor did I do any research yet.

It doesn't matter that they weren't both superstars. They won a whole lot of rings. that 1+2 won more rings per talent of 3+4+5 than any other 1+2 all time. case closed. /thread
They didn't win more than Jordan and Paxson/Armstrong. Not that that argument makes much sense anyway.

^Good to see they are getting recognition in this thread. That backcourt was well balanced and could handle just about anything.
Vinny was the perfect guy off the bench, Dumars could guard the heavy offensive opposing guards, and Isiah was, well, Isiah. Even if one of the three was having an off night, you could still get a high level of offensive output from the other two.
In terms of pure talent West and Goodrich has to be near the top of the list.
Any of the backcourts including Magic or Jordan should be considered, simply because those players themselves were the best ever at what they did best and were usually paired with solid complementary players.

Which ones?
As for not yet mentioned great back courts that fall lower but still deserve mention, you've got Harper and Blackmon, Adams/Lever/Davis, McMillan/Threatt/Ellis, Cheeks/Toney/any of their good 3rd guards, and Hardaway/Richmond/Marciulonis (?) or Spreewell/Hardaway/Mullin.
