^ Agreed, that was ridiculous. You could understand, sort of, if it was a tactical decision. But he let his personal feelings interfere with the championship on the line. If that had happened today, he never would have coached in the NBA again.

My vote goes to James Worthy for his cross-court pass near the end of Game 2 in the 1984 Finals. Gerald Henderson steals, scores the tying basket to force OT, and the Celtics win to avoid an 0-2 deficit.

Assists to Pat Riley, who called for a TO that let the Celtics set their defense rather than force them to foul Magic Johnson with time running down; and Magic, for dribbling out the clock rather than getting off a shot at the end of regulation.

A complete and total meltdown, and it cost them a championship.

This wasn't really a decision, but another playoff blunder that always sticks in my head is Patrick Ewing's blown finger roll at the end of Game 7 of the Eastern semis. What a way to lose a series, with your star missing a point-blank layup.

Sam Mitchell starting Joey 'My footspeed is like whoa' Graham instead of Mo 'I guarded Vince Carter every day in practise for 6 years' Peterson.

Those two were just fronting, they knew they weren't going to start anything with the Spurs, so why did they step on the court? The world may never know...
Exactly. That was so stupid of Amare. I lost alot of respect for him for compromising his team's chances like that.

I was going to say this... I'm surprised it took 5 pages for someone to mention it...

Also... No mention of Isiahs intercepted pass that led to a DJ layup???

I thought of that, but I honestly and VERY grudgingly tend to chalk that up more to Bird being Bird than Zeke being brainless.

I think writerman was right though, the worst decision of all time has to be sitting Wilt out.

What about the 2001 playoffs with the Celtics leading the Nets in GAME 5 with Twan and Paul spraying 3's all over New Jersey and missing at that only to lose in OT in a game they was once dominating.

pat riley in 89. he totally screwed magic johnson and that team out of a 3peat championship. and that is a considered a big blunder in the history of that franchise, to LAKER management insiders.
