You are almost describing what I call a PG except you don't seem to want there to be any rhyme or reason to it. Just whatever GA wants to do is fine.
No, that's not what I meant at all. Gil has often talked about playing the game in segments. First he'll pass. Then he'll shoot. Then he'll penetrate. Then he'll pass again. I'm saying I want Gil to play an "integrated" game. Where he's as much a threat to pass as he is to score on any trip down the floor. That's when the guy will be truly scary to opposing teams, and it'll make the Wizards even more potent.
No reason to respond to the rest of your post because it was about stuff I wasn't saying/thinking/meaning.

"I want Gil to play with Darius [Songaila], I want different lineups [and] our top eight or nine rotation guys to really get a part of it and get that chemistry down. That's what we're looking at" down the stretch."No matter who is not playing we still want to go in with our rotation guys," Jordan said. "If we had eight guys, nine guys all year and we had a good flow, we had a good thing going, maybe I don't play those guys. But now that Gil's in the mix we need to get him in the mix and playing with everybody, all different types of combinations."
So EJ says an 8-9 man rotation. So that's the starting 5, Gil, and Songaila for sure. I think Blatche is #8, and the possible ninth is likely Mason. Young, McGuire, Pech and Etan wave dem towels.
I think the short rotation, totally etched in stone, is patently STUPID.
While McGuire's waving a towel he's still the same guy who frustrated Chris Paul.
While Pecherov is waving a towel, when his shot is on, he's basically a taller Vlad Radmanovic. That guy drilled the Wizards from the perimeter. OPEC is a guy who eventually could be a Robert Horry type late in games. Or, a Mehmet Okur, that Detroit bailed on too soon.
Etan's a guy the Wizards are better overall without due to chemistry reasons, but I could see him fulfilling the thug POWER FORWARD roll very nicely. Won't happen, but for years I've said he could play with Haywood and I really feel that way now. The thing Etan did last year was prove he can finish with authority and at times be a very good low post scorer. If he got with Hopla on FT shooting, Etan could become an offensive force. But this season he's not in the picture, and rightfully so.
EJ's obviously trying to fine tune rolls and plays among the top 8 or 9 so they can be sharp in the playoffs.
I just HATE that he and other NBA coaches don't allow for that special situational substitution when they freeze out 3 or 4 talented players totally.
If Nick Young's not in the top 9 and the Wizards need points in the playoffs but he stays on the bench, that's wrong.
Dominic McGuire is the type of guy that can come in and PASS the ball and REBOUND and DEFEND THE PERIMETER.
I just hope EJ uses all his resources well.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Relax, CCJ.
Those guys will all see some limited action, especially as special situations call for.
McGuire will got some time covering Lebron (and then Paul in the Finals
)
Etan will play if and only if he's 10000% healthy, which I doubt at all.
Nick will get spot duty when guys are banged up or we're down 20 at some point.
Pech probably won't because he's really shown nothing resembling proof that he's ready for playoff basketball.
Last night shows me that our rotation makes sense -- as long as EJ stays away from long stretches with Songaila at C with Jamison at defensive PF.

And when was the last time Opec's shot was on? Yeah, that's right summer league. Kinda hard to criticize EJ for not putting Opec in the in the playoff rotation.

Haven't you figured out that whenever me and the wife are arguing, or whenever my kids are getting on my nerves, or when I'm frustrated with my big belly and my man boobs ...
that I blame EJ for something!
Pecherov had a couple games a month or two back where he got buckets. Summer league or preseason is the last time he had an impact. He's clearly not ready.
Yet, I can still criticize EJ if the Wizards lose in the playoffs and Pecherov gets no playing time.
It's messed up. It's wrong. But if I'm having a bad enough time of things ...
For the record, I'm really proud that EJ hasn't panicked, hasn't made any excuses during the series of injuries, and he's a fighter.
I just want him to get the perimeter defense up to snuff and that's about it. Oh, and also use the players he's got wisely. I believe EJ's seen the light. Haywood's getting proper minutes.
(Thanks for answered prayer.) And Darius has found his game.
The rest will take care of itself once the perimeter d comes around.
Caron needs to start defending and stop trying to do too much, too.

I'm right there with you with one twist. I want him to lean toward passing first. After that, sure, mix it up.

I'm least confident DMAC will see any minutes.
As for NY. CCJ and I see that as a problem. We feel NY should see minutes other then the one you laid out.
