Ewing was an outstanding defender. He wasn't a very good passer but his defense was awesome. His offensive game left much to be desired but he was VASTLY superior to Chris Bosh.

- Hands, Ewing had awful hands for a center
- Passing,

In almost every other area of the game Ewing enjoys a clear advantage, and on defense its massively significant

To me these are the hardest comparison because Patrick Ewing has been touted as a Hall of Famer for years while Chris Bosh is just beginning his career. It's probably a pretty good comparison if they played in the same era. It's just like how people want to believe Kobe will never be better than MJ or how LeBron can never be better than Oscar Robertson. To me, it's people just not knowing basketball and it's BS. These modern day guys would most likely school the guys from before because the level of competition is so much higher and they are generally more skilled.

Not David West and Emeka Okafur!!! Oh no! Just because you're too young to know the some of the guys that will be mentioned as Ewing's competition doesn't mean it wasn't as good. But don't worry, in 15 years someone is gonna laugh when you list off that group of players as Bosh's competition. Why? Because for sure some of them won't win an MVP or a rin, or lead the league in scoring or rebounding, and a few won't even get deep into the playoffs at all. It's just the law of averages.

There were plenty of guys just as good or better than the guys you just mentioned and I'm sure you'd be quick to dismiss them because they never did any of the things I just ran off for you. That doesn't mean they weren't good.
