Have you seen him play a lot? What position do you see him playing? I've seen him listed at both PF and SF.

I've seen him play probably three times. Right now, with no weight change from his current weight, I'd say he's a SF in the pros. Pro scouts compare him to Bosh, but I don't think he's that skilled offensively yet. I see him as a tall lanky small forward, similar to Hakim Warrick but with more offensive game, better ball handling, and a better shotblocker.

A taller version of Hakim Warrick with those skills probably shouldn't last long in the draft.

Here's Ford's take:

Summary: Randolph is generating significant buzz from trusted NBA scouts. If he were playing for a higher-profile program, we'd probably be talking about a lock for the Top 5. Now that he's in the draft, he could be a hot name, going anywhere from 5 to 10 in the draft.

Others compare him to Odom. The one similarity he has with Odom is that he can handle the ball with both hands and drive pretty well to the basket. Doesn't have Odom's passing ability or jumpshot range, at least not yet though.

I do think he will be a good shotblocker regardless. He can get off his feet at 6-10 and has pretty good instincts. Not a great jumpshooter though, and on ball defense with him guarding the SF could be a question mark.

Trade for Conley or trade up somehow.

I would take Bayless, but I would rather trade down (or not even move up to 3) and get Westbrook.

However, if Bogut is in our long term plans, Love is probably not a good fit for this ballclub. But he might make us pay if he has a Barkley type career.

So Love at his best is a player capable of a 22-12-4 type career? A 23-15-5 season?

I honestly don't understand the Love hype. Players like him make great college players, but they are dead as NBA players.

Lets say Hammond is our Ron Wolf...

Mike Conley is our Brett Favre...

Hammond is going to do whatever it takes to get Conley (hopefully our lotto pick plus CV) to quarterback our offense for years to come.
Book it!

Just wishful thinking and optimism now that we got a smart basketball man at the helm that can hopefully change our losing culture.

None of it matters if memphis doesn't get the first pick obviously, but conley is the exact type of pg this franchise needs.

ok, sounded like you had heard something.

i have no idea what he's gonna do, but if he really wants to build the bucks in that pistons mold he's probably gonna want some size in his point guard, so conley might not be an option

Or maybe Hammond could think Russel Westbrook could develop into a Chauncey type PG with size/defense and go with him.

I think Westbrook (for his build, defensive potential) and Mayo (for his ability to score and body) are the guys in the draft who have *some* similarities to Billups. Of course, Billups is also a top 3-5 PG in the NBA, and we're not sure if either of those guys are even going to be real PGs in the NBA. But if they can make the transition they could be fantastic.
