I'm surprised this new revelation isn't even on wiretaps yet. Stern has to take some action here.

I am concerned that you may feel I have betrayed your trust. David you know how I feel about our relationship both personally and professionally. You are among a very few, notwithstanding our relative brief actual physical time together that have significantly affected my life. I view you as a role model as an extraordinarily gifted executive, a deep and compassionate thinker, and a person with a rare and unique charisma that brings out the best in everyone you touch. You are just one of my favorite people on earth and I so cherish our relationship Sonics business aside.

Its been suck a joke with what has been going in Seattle. Now we all know what we suspected. How in the world is the city going to bond with the players if they are not allowed to talk to the media. Clay has done everything he can to undermine the team up here and now we know for a fact that it was on purpose. I wonder what comes of this.

I'm not too familiar with the situation, but why did Schultz sell the team in the first place, especially given his roots in Seattle, and Bennett's roots in OK?

I'm all for calling Clay Bennet a douchebag, but maybe if Sonics fans would show up to watch their team we wouldn't have this problem in the first place.
Part of Seattle not drawing large attendance is simply that the Sonics have the smallest arena in the league. So if they sell out they end up turning people away at the door. But also long before Clay showed up the Sonics were simply not very good. Like most fans, Sonics fans want to see a winning product. With the exception of the year where the Sonics won 52 game they have been bad for about a decade.
So tell me were the Sonics bad for a decade because fans weren't showing up? Or were fans not showing up because the product on the floor sucked?

what an abssolutely ignorant post. you did enough research to come up with those numbers, you should have looked a little further to see how small key arena is. i've been to over 20 games at Key this year and despite all that is happening and the horrible product they are intentionally putting on the floor, that building has been full and loud almost every time. certainly moreso than anything in NJ (I know how much you like it when we mention the Nets to you)

wiff, seattlesun: you made my points for me. thank you. you guys are right on point.
edit: ss1895699nv8><uu, whatever, i guess if you paid attention you would know that the sonics have been rolling out a crap product for a while. the city supports its teams. when they put out a solid product.

even when you look at it in percentages of total attendance vs max attendance, seattle still ranks 25th. they average 77.8% of full capacity, beating out only memphis, indiana, charlotte, minnesota, and phily this year. and just below the 78.5% of nj. guess you might have found that out if you had done enough research...

oh, i agree. in previous years, they have been in the top half (even top 10) in percentage filled. i was only referencing this year.
