Bynum OUT for 6 more weeks. Lakers Done!

Haters galore rejoice.

Andrew Bynum has not been cleared to practice by that physician in NY and there are strong indications from laker insiders that he will be OUT 6 more weeks, or effectively the entire playoff run.

Poor Kobe man.

Slow healers.
Terrible doctors
and an organization that can't keep its integrity.

I sure hope this guy leaves the lakers man. It's not worth it. That franchise is cursed man. And why waste Kobe's best years on a loser.

Does any laker fan REALLY believe that no one will get injured next year??? Its a pathetic recurring theme. Laker player gets injured and comes back WAY behind schedule and not at 100%. See Karl Malone, 03-04 for reference and laker medical staff MIS-diagnosis.

WHAT a pathetic organization wiht drunken old, classless wanna be gigolo and his loud mouth over the top cocaine addicted kids.

I feel for kobe man. To put your heart and soul into something and not have it in your control. Thats too bad.

Anyway, this is a huge blow for us if confirmed. We're still an elite team even without Bynum but we won't be favorites over teams like San Antonio and Phoenix w/out him. My guess is we get taken out in the second round.

Regardless of whether it's true, fortunately I didn't count for them to become champs this year anyway: let's wait until the next season and we'll show you all how to win, with the whole team hopefully healthy, knowing triangle offense and how to play together! ;-)

I hope this isn't true..

I've had a liking for Bynum ever since Kobe threw him under the bus for no reason..I was happy to see that it didn't break his spirit, like it would have for many other players..IF THIS IS TRUE, it's truly a shame, and hopefully he can recover from it..it's sad to see what happened to Krstic, who had a lot of potential..I don't wanna see it happen to Bynum..

Lakers can still win without Bynum..but they're gonna have to score A LOT..they do have arguably the best player in the NBA, a good PF and a solid 3rd option..surrounded with shooters..so they're still definitely an elite team..

Bynum would make them the favorites though(assuming he's in form)..he makes up for the lack of a defensive presence on the interior, which could definitely be a problem if he isn't playing..

you must not be keeping up to date. Laker fans worldwide are in UNISON that the laker medical staff is the WORST in the league.

For reference to what I mean, read this about Karl Malone's injury and tell me how ANY NBA TEAM can pull that off and NOT get fired.

Simple. Jerry and the Jerriatrics running the organization have NO clue what they are doing.

Malone was critical of the Lakers Medical staff. Here is one report I found.

Malone says that the alleged misdiagnosis occurred because the MRI of his knee was taken too high. The top part of the ligament, he says, was not torn. Instead, it was the lower part that was injured.

Malone said that he began to suspect something was wrong after three weeks went by following the initial MRI and his knee was still hurting...

"... Talked to the doctor ... who was in Newport Beach [California, where Malone lives during the season]. He said, 'Karl, you've got a torn MCL.' Without [taking] any MRI. He said, 'Here it is. It's lower.' "

"I was told it was my pain threshold," Malone said. "I was like, 'Bleep that, I know I have a pain threshold.' I'm built like that. After that, it took me about a month and a half to realize I was hurt. Even after when I got the [second] MRI. That's when I said, 'Damn, I am hurt.' And then I went through about two or three weeks ... distraught ain't the right word. I was very disappointed. I went to Arkansas, visited my mom's gravesite, did a lot of stuff like that. Mental stuff. And all of a sudden I started to come around. I had a good day, then I had a couple of bad. Then I had four or five good ones, and one bad. It was slow progress."

They already score enough. It is their defense that is hindering them.

He was not cleared to practice , which is why people are estimating the time they are ( 6weeks ) , its even on yahoo sports.

and i agree , lakers have never been healthy , but then again i have faith that next season everyone will be healthy heading into the playoffs. i could care less what happens during the season as long as no one misses to many games so chemistry wont be ruined

Health is going to be a big factor in this years playoffs. It looks like Bynum won't be back, and who knows how long Manu is going to be hurt. I wonder if anyone else is going to go down...
