Yeah, they are better defensively this season from what I know, as well

Yeah. Who would've thought they'd be in the playoff race, without Gil and Caron for most of the year as well? They're deeper than I first thought. And I know Arenas (and DeShawn) would love a 1st round matchup with LeBron and the Cavs.

Seems like they've developed nice chemistry over the last year or so

^ A product of the west (stacked (Rockets) ) and the Suns defense (inconsistent)

Big-time win for Houston - thought it'd be a more competitive game, though

It's a very interesting situation at the moment.

We shouldn't take 3rd place right now. It would be terrible. Our path would be Phoenix-Lakers-Hornets till finals.
That's why:
We should win all of remaining games to be 2nd
We should lose at least 2 of remaining to be 5th.(HCA against Utah in first round)

If you guys lose to either the Lakers or the Kings, and the Jazz win both of their home games against Denver and Houston, then that last game of the season turns into a battle for HCA in the first round. I don't see San Antonio wanting to face that possibility going into the playoffs.

I don't think SA cares about HCA... we have proven and won on the road before. It is more important to us for everyone to be healthy.

Well it just got interesting.... the Laker/Spurs game might be for the number 1 seed after all. I thought we lost our chance for the number 1 seed but I can't and won't complain.

Is this a better seed for us I wonder? We'd have HCA over the Jazz, a familiar opponent from last year's PO's.

Then we'd face the #1 in the 2nd round, assuming we get past Utah.

I think the 6th spot would be best for us. With Rockets climbing up to the #3 spot. Spurs need to go 1-1 in the last two. Suns need to win out the last two (GS and Portland at home) and Houston must win one of 2 games..(Utah @ Utah (probably a loss) and then clippers at home.

agree with Rique..Houston is by far the best matchup for us, and would give us an opportunity to get into a rhythm..or suffer an embarrassing loss of course..

Lakers: 1-0
Hornets: 2-0
Jazz: 2-0
Houston: 1-1
Spurs: 1-1
Suns: 2-0(doesn't make a difference if they lose neither)

1.LA Lakers 57-25
2.NO Hornets 57-25
3.Utah Jazz 55-27
4.Houston Rockets 55-27
5.SA Spurs 55-27
6.Phoenix Suns 55-27

Oh, well I didn't realize that situation about Houston.. then of course that'd be better.

What's somewhat concerning is how the Warriors/Suns game would go.
