Avery plays old people, Wright has only been in the league a short time. Plaiying Wright goes against Avery's inane ideas. That's why he's been trying to play Allen over Bass lately. It's stupid, but it's Avery.
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I believe your over-rating Wright. He'll probably get 15-20 minutes next year and start a few games, but he'll never be more than a role player.

There are a few people over at the Nets board who over-rate Antoine, and there are also a few that under-rate him. Personally, I like Antoine. You're right though in that he's a role player. That being said, every team needs a role player. Antoine is a good defender. He reminds me a lot of Kerry Kittles with a more inconsistent jumpshot.

He can struggle against the "big" guards because he's just not strong enough, but he plays pretty good position defense, moves his feet well, and he's long enough that he can bother shooters. He defends guys who move off the ball well, like Hamilton. I've seen him match up against T.J. Ford and manage to keep him in front of him and challenge the shot.

He's just not consistent enough offensively to be a starter in the league. IMO, he can do well in the Mavs starting line-up as a running mate to Kidd and a defensive catalyst. That or see if guys like Stack, EJ are making their shots. If they are not, then Toine can come in and actually contribute by playing defense, running the floor hard, and hustling.

Wright had a good, solid game last night - albeit against the dregs of the Western Conference...

 LMAO at defending Fazekas ... Fazekas kicking ass? hahahahaha

I guess the Mavs should have played Adam Harrington, Dan Dickau, Darrick Martin, Mamadou N'Diaye, Antoine Rigaudeau, and Jon Stefansson more.

regardless, Wright sucks, the end.

"In his first 207 minutes with the Clippers (not counting Tuesday night's game against Denver where he was once again amazing), Fazekas has posted a 0.316 WP48 [Wins Produced per 48 minutes]. Yes, the sample is quite small. But on a per-minute basis, it might be the best mark of the 2008 rookie class (I haven't looked at all the rookies yet, but I would be surprised if another rookie surpassed the 0.300 mark)."

Fazekas was a better choice at C than 6'9"Howard to keep behind Dampier. They made a major mistake to let him go and next season it really hurts since we have no draft pick in the first. You have to build for the future and not just try to get retreads that have limited game left.

I don't know where I may have come off as over-rating Wright, but I agree with you in that Wright never will be anything more than a role player.

Still he can be a good role player and at the very least he deserves minutes over Devean George.

Wright is a decent defender but will give you nothing offensively because he plays scared. The guy is a decent finisher around the hoop and he can hit the J every now and then.

It's in Wright's hands. What kind of contract does he want?
