Question for nuggets fans.
Some crazy poster on chris-bosh forum thinks CB4 is as good as gone. Question is, he thinks that they can trade bosh for melo.
Is that even feasible?

Why on earth would either teams do that trade. They are essentially swapping franchise players, with Melo having the more attraction.
The only way I could see this happening is if Toronto wants to sell tix, while Denver plans to sign AI long term and trade Camby.
A Bosh, Nene and Kenyon front court would be nasty and make them a bigger team, but this **** doesn't happen though, not even close.

Bosh is good but i'll pass on this.
Would you do Bosh/Calderon for Melo? Then trade Camby (assuming Nene is healthy) for some outside shooting help off the bench?
I mean I think I would.
Calderon/AI/Kenyon/Bosh/Nene>Carter/AI/Melo/Kenyon/Camby
Then a stronger bench presence with trading Camby.

I like Nene and want him to get healthy, but you can't ASSume he ever will be. I have been making the same ASSumption for 4 years now and hoping that he can put together another healthy season like he did in his first 2.
Bosh over the last 3 seasons has played in 70 games, 69 games, and this season he has currently only played in 63 games. The numbers are declining year by year just like Nene's. A frontline of Nene and Bosh is about as brittle as the one we have had over the past few seasons.
A big man with the talent Bosh has that is only getting 8 boards and 1 block on a team that shoots the 3 religiously isn't that impressive, and he doesn't even have to share rebounds with teammates the way Melo does.
Plus, you want to deal off Camby on top of that. This would give us a frontline of 2 microfracture surgeries, an ACL surgery and Cancer survivor, and Bosh who has recently had some injury problems of his own. He is a good player, but I would easily still rather have Melo.
Calderon is a nice player, but I am not convinced that his defense is all that good and he is in the Market for a big payday, so it would take more then Melo from a financial standpoint to put him in the deal. A backcourt of Calderon and AI would still get torched on the defensive end IMO.
Personally, I would rather keep the team we have at the moment over the team we would have after this deal.

a step in the right direction for the raptors. first of all...there is no way on earth that a bosh-melo deal would go down. maybe calderon, bosh, moon, 1st round, cash for melo...but melo is still worth more than that.
on the contrary...toronto has the outside shooting to spread the floor for melo. they would need a legit second option scorer to go alongside melo...and assuming they kept calderon...I see them going to the finals.

i think you don't realize how trading works because you're that kind of a huuuuge melo homer. every GM (from the nuggets perspective) in the world would trade calderon, bosh, moon, 1st round + cash for melo. this would put us over the hump to be contenders... bosh is a great player who is in the same range as anthony. the only thing that you don't know is how good melo will be in a couple years (because it --->seems<--- that melo's potential is great enough to become a 25/10 player. a trade that would give us bosh AND calderon for melo and chucky would be done in a second by everybody i think. bosh is a 20/10 big man and calderon a 10+ assists (every night) guy...
but it would NEVER happen because the value the raptors would get in exchange isn't high enough.
i don't want to trade melo, or anybody else but this trade would be great if we would get this offer

You know nothing. Please don't try and act like you know that every GM in the league would make that trade....young players with a world of potential like Melo don't get traded....for anything...name the last guy that had the potential Melo does, and was traded before the age of 25. The only way a trade would happen, is if we were dealing with somebody that was either trouble, or demanded a trade.

no-brainer:
allen iverson
for
jose calderon
2nd rounder
Too bad the money doesn't come close, Toronto would have to throw in a bunch more and that's not happening. If AI opts out and signs for 10 mil, it would be dumb anyway, plus he isn't doing it to get traded to Toronto. AI either makes too much money or he holds the cards in any other scenerio.

I mean what GM in the league wouldn't do that? A true point, for an undersized 2 that shoots too much....less salary, younger player....JR slides into the 2.....we're a better team. Way more of a.....what did you guys say? A "no-brainer"? Why would we want Bosh....we have 2 power forwards in K-Mart and Nene.....Bosh is a 4....Melo is a 3. And my first sentence in this post is sarcasm....I'm not a GM, nor do I pretend to be one...but please tell me the last time a player under 25 with Melo's potential went anywhere? AI would go...we've already seen him traded once....but Melo? Sorry.....the only way he's going anywhere is if he wants out, or he chokes out Kroenke.

We could throw in fillers to make the salary work....I believe Calderon is going to get a new contract pretty quick anyway....we've got fillers.

The trade alone is not possible.
