Might be that since the Cs are not playoff tested, better to face them than the Pistons. . .

Boston's guys still have doubts and uncertainty and this loss yesterday shook them, Joe_Wiz. They might be the #1 threat as you say. I don't know.

Though I would not give us even odds to beat Detroit, particularly given that they would have home court, I wouldn't say they scare me. I had been thinking that Boston is the bigger threat of the two, but I have to say that this last win against Boston has affected my thinking. The fact that they played their big 3 significant minutes, the looks on their faces as they were losing, and the fact that Gilbert is just getting going make me very optimistic.

Any way you cut it, Boston and Detroit (in either order) are threats 1A and 1B, and we'll probably have to go through both of them if we're gonna get to the finals.

I want Cleveland period. I don't even care how we match up with them on paper, how many calls the refs will give LeBron, or whether or not the NBA would rather see the Queen and the Cavs advance than the Wiz. To explain why, I'll tell this true short story:

I coached a sixth grade CYO team once and our team got destroyed by the best team in the league in two regular season games. In the playoffs, we met them again but they did not have enough players to start the game. According to the rules, the opposing team was suppose to forfeit even though enough players showed up after the game start time. The refs gave my team the opportunity to take the forfeit, thus advancing in the playoffs, or waive the rules and play the team. I left it up to a team vote and they all voted to play them. We ended up winning the game and it was one of my proudest moments as a coach. They could have taken the easy route, but it was more important to show that they could beat one of the best.

So, why do I tell this story. Let's play the Cavs to show them we can beat them despite the refs, the NBA marketing gurus that want to see LeBron advance, et. Let's shut up all the naysayers that say they own us. Let's show that we are not the same team that we were the last two years. Let's send one of the darling's of the NBA, The Queen, himself packing. Let's kick their ass............................

Who's with me now?????????????????????

As of today.

Boston vs ATL - Boston takes them out. Thank God.

DET vs Phi - 2-2 Phli won the last 2.

ORL vs TOR - 2-1 Orl won the last 2

Wiz vs Cle - We win

Actually, you could see some upsets. All the match ups are close except Boston vs Atl.

We could actually see Orlando in the 2nd round then Boston takes care the sixer and we take care of Boston. We are the finals vs NO.

My dream match up. GA vs CP

Phili has the energy to run with DET. That would be a great series. I predicting the upset. Sixer over DET.

I'm not even worried about them. If we have home court or not. We will beat them this year. We just need to get healthy. This isn't a no name Wizards team with no marketing power or respect from the refs.

We have beaten the best. Actually 3 times. The only team to do it. And we have done well against the other top teams. The refs know who we are now.

This isnt the Wiz of 2 years ago and last year we were without CB and GA.

Cleveland should be the team that is scared. And if the clips fall so we see ORL next. We can take them also. Then on to take down Boston.

Hands, I believe you mis-interpreted the potential playoff brackets for round 2. Granted there are still some games to play but it

Although unlikely, potentially that could still happen, but it depends on how the Wiz/ Raps finish out the season.

Yeah, since it's all ifs right now.

If we get 4th and TOR beat ORL we could play 2 home court series.

Also, it official. The win over the Sixers gives us a better record then last year and gives us a winning season.

But we should close this out.

44-38 or 43-39

Time to put up that season projections thread where we guessed at the beginning of the season.

Return to Washington Wizards
