7. x-Toronto 23.0
8. Atlanta 26.0

Play the starters with 2 fouls in the first half, Woody! Do what normals coaches do for a change!

Well this is another MUST win game for the Hawks! No more excuses. We CANNOT lose to the Knicks when we have Boston and Orlando coming in town after that. We lose tonight and the playoffs are history. Time step it up NOW! Go Hawks!

I'll be there. I have an extra ticket if anyone is here and gets at me before I find someone else.

I would say something about keeping an eye on the score of the Philly game but I don't care - as long as we win, we are in fine shape.

Would be nice if Bibby and Marv had their shots falling.

As long as Jamal Crawford doesn't go off we should win this game.

We always play down to their level and play sloppy. Hopefully we can play solid professional basketball for once and have an easy victory.

Your right.

However, like Gutz said, they know who lurks after, so it's time to win or starting planning a vacation.

ESPN.com Hawks/Knicks Preview

The Atlanta Hawks, trying to hold on to a playoff spot, will face a couple of tough opponents down the stretch. A daunting schedule hasn't stopped the lowly New York Knicks from playing their best basketball of the season.

With four games remaining in the regular season, the Hawks look to take advantage of a matchup with the Knicks when the teams meet Friday night.

New York (23-56) has the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference and it's probably too late to save coach Isiah Thomas' job, but the team has matched a season high with three straight wins. Two of those victories were against division winners Detroit and Orlando.

The Magic are one of four teams left on the Hawks' schedule, as is East-leading Boston. Atlanta (36-42) has a two-game lead over Indiana for the final playoff spot in the East, and both teams have four games remaining.

The Hawks had a chance to secure the tiebreaker advantage over the Pacers on Tuesday night, but lost 112-98 to Indiana.

"We just have to put this game behind us and come out Friday and play better," Atlanta forward Marvin Williams said. "In order for us to hold on to the eighth seed, which we have had for a while now, we have to play with a sense of urgency over these last four games and we can't afford to get complacent."

The Hawks lost for just the fourth time in 14 games despite getting 30 points from Joe Johnson, who is averaging 28.0 in his last four games. Josh Smith added 25 points and 13 rebounds for Atlanta.

Johnson has posted 24.3 points a contest against New York this season, leading the Hawks to wins in each of the teams' three games.

All of those matchups came during the Knicks' 2-17 stretch from Feb. 29-April 4, but they have since bounced back to win three straight to assure themselves of avoiding the first 60-loss season in franchise history. New York has not won four in a row since a six-game run from Jan. 2-13, 2006.

"Finally the spirit of the team is good. The camaraderie of the team is good," Thomas said. "I just think that they're a team now."

Fred Jones made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 3:47 left and scored 15 points as the Knicks beat Charlotte 109-107 on Wednesday night. New York has also matched a season high with three straight wins at Madison Square Garden.

"We want to play as well as we can every night," Jones said. "Of course it's too late to make the playoffs, but it's not too late for us to play well."

Jamal Crawford, who averages a team-best 20.7 points, scored 39 in a 114-109 loss to the Hawks on March 30.

I know we give Woody a hard time but atleast he's not Isiah. The Knicks help defense(I believe they have the fewest blocks in NBA history this year) and value of the ball(seriously they just throw the ball away)is just awful. Bibby's layup and Smith's spin move to the basket were basically given to them. Bobby Knight must be rolling over in his grave.

Now see, right now while the Hawks have this lead Woodson should be getting Joe some rest.

I would still like to see Coach Woodson utilize Jeremy Richardson as another 3 point option before we go into the playoffs. I don't like that part of our game missing when Mike and Joe are cold. Not related tonight obviously.

Clyde Frazier has a man crush on Joe Johnson.

It's amazing..the Hawks haven't gotten ANY help. Philly decided to lose to Indy after beating Detroit at home. It looks like we are just going to have to beat Orlando.

Minnesota beat them so that means we should.

Indy is pretty relentless. They now get two gift wrap games against Charlotte and New York.

I still think its possible for the Hawks to beat Boston since they will be resting their starters in the majority of the second half of games and the Hawks will be going full throttle, regardless, one Pacers loss should do the trick since the Heat game is very very winnable.

JJ was just huge tonight. It is a good thing too.

The defensive rebounding was horrible. The Knicks got 21 offensive rebounds.

I just feel like Indy is going to win out to tie us unless we beat Orlando.

Never is easy. Great 1st half. Then almost falling apart. Finally putting it in the freezer.

Really short rotation. Plenty of guys stepped up. Joe, Bibby, Al, Josh Smith. If we can keep winning it doesn't matter what Indy does, which is good because Indy is playing great ball right now.

The Knicks are one of the worst teams I have ever seen, but I gotta hand it to the Garden. They're rockin no matter what.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
