Swift,KVH and Mavs 08 1st for Brad Miller?

Post#1 » by sackings916 » Thu Apr 10, 2008 8:37 am

If Nets decide to compete instead of rebuild, what do Nets fans think of this trade? Kings are rebuilding, so this Swift+KVH's contracts (1 more season) cuts a year off Miller's contract (2 more seasons).

KVH is technically on the salary cap for this year, next year, and the year after that.

The thing is if the Nets waive him at the end of the year, the remaining 2 years on his contract become null-and-void since they're 100% unguaranteed.

I'd have to check whether KVH could be traded and then waived and have the same thing happen. I'm guessing there's some sort of must-waive-by deadline...

As for the trade itself, there was a time when I would have liked Miller but if Krstic gets his extension this season it doesn't make much sense to trade for Miller as the two players have very similar games. Miller is definitely the better passer and rebounder though...

i wouldn't mind having Miller on board with the current pieces we are building around.

Krstic needs to really step it up next year. The knee will not be a good excuse come November.

Nah I'll pass. I'd rather draft Kevin Love with our pick. You're basically getting a better and younger version of Brad Miller. Brad never wowed me even though I respect him. If I'm rebuilding, I wouldn't touch him let alone throw a 1st rounder into the deal.

One thing I dont understand about college players and that is why dont they get in shape earlier.

When looking at Kevin Love he will have to get into shape. if Drafted it will take two seasons to see where he will truly be!!!!!!!!

im sorry i dont have that much time to wait.

+1, no need to load his dumb contract, and we are rebuilding, no need to be like the New York Knicks

Actually I think Miller is a hell of a player. Just a little old nowadays.

But, no thank you on this team in our position, along with the fact Brad needs surgery.

I don't know about all that.
He looked good in the games I saw him in stamina wise.
Yeah, I agree, without question he could benefit from some cardio and weight room training, but it's not like he looks like an Oliver Miller or Mike Sweetney.
Besides, this kid is young.
He is a freshman, 19 or 20 by the time he would play his 1st NBA game.
Draft him, unless Mayo or maybe Gallinari falls to us.
Matter of fact trade RJ somehow to move down and draft Mayo and Love.

Value wise it's a pretty fair trade, but the Nets should not be making this type of move.
