Milwaukee Media:Suggested questions for Press conference
Ok guys....do us proud and ask these ones.....
For Kohl:
a) Is John Hammond the #2 person in the organization behind you?
b) What roles do you see going forward for Ron Walter and Dave Babcock? Will they report to John Hammond or will they still report to you?
c) Do you think this team should focus on making the playoffs next season? Or should the team re-build even if it means next year being a growing year with young players?
d) Does John have full authority to select and hire the coach whoever that might be?
For Hammond:
a) Do you believe the team as constituted is capable of making the playoffs next year?
b) What do you think is the most important way to collect talent? The Draft, Trades or Free agency?
That is really all that needs to be asked. Again I hope our media does us proud and we don't get a guy like Gary Howard asking a kiss-up question like "Hey, welcome to Milwaukee....tell us what it was like to work for Joe D!.....Can you get me courtsides for the All-Star game next year?"

Great idea for a thread, and I'll try to add to it, but for the moment I wanted to mention that I agree with your sentiment in bold, but in fairness to Steve Haywood, I thought the best questions from the last two press conferences came from Steve Haywood. I'll admit I was somewhat surprised by that, but I've got to recognize when he does a good job like that.

For Kohl...Will John Hammond have the same exact power that Larry Harris had?
Are there any guys on the team that you see as un-touchable?
Will money play a factor in any decisions that Hammond makes or does he have full authority even if it means that you will have to spend more $$$ than you had maybe originally planned on?
For Hammond:...Welcome to Milwaukee...do you really believe everything that the Senator just told us given his meddling past?

I fixed the reference to Haywood.....
But I do hope these guys in the media don't fall for Kohl's Jedi mind tricks tomorrow and fall all over themselves with questions about "The Pistons, Joe Dumars, the Bucks of 25-years ago and whether Hammond can rekindle that, etc, etc...."
I could care less about what the guy did before today or Bucks nostalgia. I want to know what his power is to shape tomorrow.

Another one for Kohl...Recently an assistant coach for the Bucks went on a radio station in Toronto and said that there were guys on the team that refuse to pass other guys the ball and there are major problems in the lockerroom... Does this concern you? Why hasnt anybody been fined for conduct detrimental to the team? How important is it to you and John to get guys in here that are team players and not selfish ball-hogging chuckers?

Senator Kohl,
You have hired John Hammond to the position of general manager. Do you intend to give him full control over basketball operations?
If so, as perhaps a response to the fans who don't believe that Hammond won't be hampered by interference from yourself, Ron Walter, etc., would you be willing to state right now that you will be giving Hammond the title of Vice President of Basketball Operations and making him the Alternate Governor instead of Ron Walter? Or will you insist that Ron Walter continue to outrank John Hammond within the organization?
Or, to go a step further, would you consider making John Hammond the Alternate Governor AND giving him the President of Basketball Operations title that you still hold yourself? If you are not willing to give him that title, what qualities did Doug Collins possess that made him more qualified for that title than John Hammond, since according to many reports, you were willing to give that title to Doug Collins?

What do you have against Haywood? I think hes the only one who actually asks the tough questions. And why does everyone want to trade Yi? Yes he has great economic importance but thats not the only reason to keep him. I think he will become a great player. Hammond is smart enough not to even inquire about trading Yi.

Haha you would be a terrible reporter. You need to be more concise.

Here are the ones I posted in the other thread. I think they're all extremely important.
-Are there any players on the roster that Hammond would not have the authority to trade?
-Is there anyone in the Bucks organization besides Kohl to whom Hammond will have to report?
-What would happen if Hammond should choose to bring in a coach to run the triangle offense? Will he have that authority?
-If Hammond decides that he does not wish to work with Babcock, will he have the authority to bring in his own staff?

I think someone in the media needs to bring up Walter by name and ask whether Walter will continue to direct report to Kohl or whether Walter will now report to Hammond.
Everything else is secondary. If any question is asked like "Will you have full control over basketball operations" I think Hammond will say "yes".
You only really get to the issue by asking who Walter will report to. Most other variations of the question allow for Kohl to dodge the issue.
Then if Kohl says Walter will continue to report to him, ask the follow up question whether Burr and Steinmiller will report to Kohl or Hammond.

Your A. question to Hammond is obvious....paulpressey25 wrote:Ok guys....do us proud and ask these ones.....

NO THIS TEAM as is presently constituted is NOT able to make the playoffs! Why would you ask him that?
Evidently not! Not even in the weak East! I do not mean to sound crass but hell no...they were not a playoff team and still cant switch on d and pass the damn ball and move off screens.
I said they would not win more then 25 games when guys like boony said they would win 45-50 games!
Go look at my post 5 months ago...I was off by 1 game with 3 to go and they might not win another game!
I told you they would not and needed to get an experienced coach..like Carisle from jump street...
And that is what pisses me off the most. REDD IS NOT A LEADER OR A WINNER!....PERIOD.
So dont ask this because he will not even answer you honestly! One thing I cannot stand is lying GM's saying GM Speak like Larry Harris!
That is why he is unemployed now...Harris fell in love with his mistakes and then when he tried to clean it up with the Randolph trade that might have got us in the playoffs, if not got rid of some loose garbage Kohl interfered!
His best trade was his last that Kohl did not allow!
