I still have a feeling they'll give it to LeBron. But Kobe deserves it.

Cleveland isn't even going to win 47 games, there's no chance they give it to LeBron anymore.

Lakers I think have the better conference record. So they do. Still if NO wins out they'll have the first seed.

Do you think this now give you your MVP?

29/10/8, and came up huge in the 4th when it was needed the most.

Kobe stepped up his game like i hoped. I do think he should get the MVP now

As a Laker fan in the playoffs, i still have some concerns about Kobe's lack of quickness lately.

Id give the MVP to Kobe

Yea this pretty much solidified it. A win against SA on Sunday would guarantee it. Guy is deserving. Great season this year and the last 3 years.

Hey Iggy...you've gotta be happy with your team, bro. They're playing some fantastic basketball.

Dallas/LA would be great too man.

Honestly if I didn't have stake in these playoffs I would enjoy them so much more. I don't think I could fully appreciate how good that first round is gonna be b/c I'll be only thinking about the Rockets and nervous as hell.

spurs/mavs/suns/lakers in the same bracket is absolutely brutal.

CP3 shot was off today, but he still brought it in all the ways he can. and Peja was just :onfire:

but the lakers brought just slightly more, and managed to get the win.

If i were a team in the west I would avoid houston. despite being undermanned and having Tmac curse Hou plays some good defense. Offense mindede teams like nuggets jazz and phx or even La probably want to avoid them. Especially on a day Alston is hot.

BScott,

That is honorable of you man.

I will say a few things.

1) Getting a big lead is the WORST thing a team can do. Once it starts to get chipped, it becomes a cascading effect.

2) Kobe wouldnt let us lose in that fourth. Whenever a big play was needed, he provided it.

3) Do you get a bit frustrated with the lakers trying to do a bit too much sometimes with the ball in crunchtime instead of feeding it to Kobe and playing OFF him.

Like that last play that Gasol scored on that hook. They cheated over to Kobe's side, he swung it to Fish, who found Gasol underneath.

Reason I ask is cause I find myself YELLING at hte players to get it to him because he can penetrate and find the open shooter....Like he did wiht Fisher on that back breaking 3.

4) How do you feel about ALL these open 3's not falling. Kboe could have probably had about 13-15 assists tongiht had the shots fallen for him.

5) I found it MOST interesting that the Hornets made their 4th quarter surge from 15 down with Paul on the bench with 5 fouls. He seemed totally out of it.

Bottom line for me is that the PG position is a bit different in that you really do have the ball in your hands a lot. The lakers usually wait for that in the last 5 minutes tonight.

Even then they didnt do it correctly and Walton and Turiaf blew wide open layups that could have put this game away earlier. Walton man....WOW....can you do anything correctly except hit 3's in garbage time of a Clippers blowout?

JDawg - Great Post and yes i do get frustrated when Kobe's teammates go away from Kobe for a long stretch when things are not working. I agree Kobe would not let us lose and he stepped up his game in the 4th quarter. Not just as a scorer, but making the correct decisions out of double teams and getting to the free throw line at the right time. Gasol being out the game hurt the team a lot.

My only negative on Kobe is attacking the basket when that jump shot is not falling and making the correct passes out of double teams.

Kobe attacked the basket when it counted and made the correct decisions out of double teams,so i have no compaints.

Im just a picky fan. Im a Steelers fan in football and complain even when the Steelers are up 2 touchdowns with 5 minutes left.

Bscott,

Thanks for the reply. Nice post.

If it werent for Luke and Vlad and we had a TRUE SF on this team with SOMETHING to offer this team I would feel MUCH more confident that this team could go all the way.

IRONICALLY, a guy JUST LIKE Bonzi Wells.

A guy who can rebound, post up, defend well, get to the line....wouldnt FREAKIGN SLEEPWALK AND JACK UP SHOTS WHEN HE ISNT HITTING...i.e. Vlad.

I mean just SOMEONE of competence. These guys play good about once every 4-5 games.

You cant win a title with that type of pathetic play from the SF position.

I can live wiht our PG play. I know we'll get roasted...but you give up somethign to take something.

BUT MAN...the SF position is something we need.

A guy who can shoot, defend, pass.

roleplayers.

Bonzi
Battier
even a James Posey of the Celtics.

Someone of that type.

And Fisher and Farmar GOTTA STOP the idiotic turnovers and LOOKINg off Kobe.

Farmar looked off Kobe in a CRUCIAL fourht quarter possession to jack up a terrible off balance shot??? who's he think he is??? Kobe.

JUST get the damn ball to Kobe and spot up...you'll get it back from him for the OPEN JUMPER after HE creates and draws the double team.

Is that SO HARD that every idiot on this team WANTS to be the hero.

Thats why I like Lamar. He knows his role in crunchtime is to feed OFF KOBE for the most part OR get it to GAsol and cut in both instances.

These other PG's gotta learn man.

i think he made it anyway

great game and i think it is a wash right now. lakers were more expected to win since they were at home, and kobe had a near triple double, but you can't ignore cp3 and the hornets cutting the 30 point lead to ONE.

kobe has a great case, as does kevin garnett. if either of them win MVP over cp3 i won't be dissapointed.

i do think, and this is an interesting opinion, that the hornets will be better served trying to get #1 than to rest up for a playoff series.

i'd rather be #1 if possible and lose in round 1 or 2 than be #2 and lose in the conference finals. even if it's regular season, if you get #1, especially in a race like this, you've won something. the hornets could easily say the heck with it for their playoff seed, but i think they need #1 for their confidence more than the lakers and spurs.

if i was #2 or so and won the conference finals, it'd be different. we'd have actually won something.

the experience things are a bit overrated with all the close games, wins and losses for the hornets. they have plenty of experience with good and bad, with overcoming odds and falling short.

the only potential issues IMO are the matchup adjustments for the Hornets over the course of a 7 game series, like tonight when the lakers got all aggressive trapping, the hornets have to adjust. thankfully we have cp3 to recognize that sort of thing and we can counter adjust, but you can't say how the playoffs in a seven game series will play out until you get into them.

I think getting dallas in the first round seems to be the best option in the playoffs right now. THey haven't had success against teams above .500 that much. Its tough picking who to face because every team is tough to beat and they fluctuate in the wins and loss because of that. But, if you go by numbers Dallas seems to be the weak link.
