i think he made it anyway

great game and i think it is a wash right now. lakers were more expected to win since they were at home, and kobe had a near triple double, but you can't ignore cp3 and the hornets cutting the 30 point lead to ONE.

Not being down by 30>>>> cutting a 30 point lead to 1

or better yet:

Being up by 30 >>>>>> Not being down by 30>>>> cutting a 30 point lead to 1

There was no point during that game that I'd rather be a Hornets fan than a Lakers fan.

Its tough picking who to face because every team is tough to beat and they fluctuate in the wins and loss because of that. But, if you go by numbers Dallas seems to be the weak link.

I don't like that at all. We haven't shown that we can stop Dirk in anyway shape or form. They also have a couple defenders that can give Kobe a hard time (Howard and Kidd). I'd rather play Denver, GS, or even Utah.

I think playing fast pace game with nuggets could result in the lakers being in a 3 point shot comma like tonight. Its probably best match up for Hornets cuz of fast break since Cp3's so good at it. Current seeding is probably the best match up except for spurs vs. phx.

Paul actually DIDNT make much of a case for MVP TOnight.

Guy is a HECK of a player.

But when the game was 92-77 and he got his fifth foul, basically the bench cut the lakers lead down all the way.

Paul sat despondent on the bench.

he's a heck of a player man. No doubt. Best PG in the NBA. All NBA first team NO DOUBT.

But he's NOT the MVP.

I hope KG gets it if anyone personally. I still want Kobe to have ZERO MVP's.

It's kind of crazy that if things stay as they are the teams with the most Finals/WC Finals experience over the past decade will essentially be in the same bracket, Suns, Lakers, Spurs, and Mavericks.

Even as even as things might seem in the West it certainly leaves the other sides names; Nuggets/Warriors, Hornets, Jazz, Rockets, notably lacking deep or consistent playoff experience.

Tonights games kind of make it seem like it will end up that way.

Wasn't Stojakovic the one who was hitting all those crazy threes from the corner? That's basically what killed the Lakers the most during NO's second comeback in the fourth...CP3 was on the bench for the majority of that run.

Play-by-play: link

Peja made a 3 assisted by CP3 before he picked up a foul and had to sit. Plus Chandler made a 2 point shot after that. The score was 84-93 in favor of the Lakers at this time. 7:31 left. In that period of time with CP3 and Chandler out:

7:03 - Peja Stojakovic makes 23-foot three point jumper (Jannero Pargo assists)
6:22 - Ronny Turiaf enters the game for Pau Gasol
5:52 - Jannero Pargo makes two point shot
5:31 - Sasha Vujacic makes 26-foot three point jumper (Kobe Bryant assists)
5:13 - Peja Stojakovic makes 24-foot three point jumper (Jannero Pargo assists)
4:16 - Chris Paul enters the game for Mike James
3:57 - Peja Stojakovic makes 26-foot three point jumper (this was with Lamar in his face)

95-96 at that point. You got to give props to Peja and Pargo during that 3 minute stretch without CP3 and Chandler.

Like we still had the lead. Pargo and Peja were killing us... Paul's offense died in Utah.
