As for transition D...when you miss 20 3 pointers the majority of those create long rebounds and pretty much replicate a TO and fast break for the other team. There is no time to even make the transition. Half of those misses tonight could easily have been considered TO's by that exact situation happening,

Agree with this 100000%. We played as good in the first quarter defensively as we have all season. Also, all those missed 3s were killer. Granted, that's what they were giving us. But I have a lot more problem with how many 3s we jacked up, no matter how open they were, than anything Kobe did/didn't do. If we'd have been a bit more patient, and taken the time to work the ball into the paint, rather than taking the first open shot we got, this wouldn't have been nearly as close as it was.

couple things....

1) Its important for teams to learn to fight back from adversity and show they can do it in the playoffs. Of course nobody likes to let up leads...but we won and there are things to be taken from this win.

My problem - as Norm's stoned ass stated - is that this team is not "beating" the teams in the games they should. Winning but not "beating" them...I agree with that. We need to punish and step on their throats when we have those opportunites.

Yeah, a big problem is that guys like Fish, Sasha, Radmanovic, and Farmar pull for those threes no matter what. When you have more than one of them on the floor, it's either feast or famine, because they will shoot the ball - every time.

I agree with you that tonight was not an impressive win by any means. Actually, I am still pretty livid at the fact that we blew a 30 pt lead. I consider tonight a moral loss and if anything, the Hornets came away with more confidence should we meet in the playoffs.

However, Kobe played almost a perfect game. This is not the game to diss him yet you found ways to criticize him. If Kobe shoots 19 for 20, dishes out 15 assists, 10 rebounds and get 7 steals you will probably clown on him for that lone miss saying what a terrible shot it was and how he needs to learn to take a better shot.

I have confidence that all four are going to make those shots more often than not. I actually don't mind them taking them (usually) because that's how you blow open a close game. At the same time, we played right into N.O.'s hands. I expect young guys like Farmar and Vujacic, or stupid guys like Radmanovic, to take those shots; they don't really know any better. But I am truly shocked at some of the stuff Fish, as a 10-plus year vet, does. He had a stretch there to start the second half that was just brutal.

Hopefully all of these little 'growth' victories will finally add up so we can play with killer instinct all the time. If we play to win every game like we did in the 1st half we would be pretty tough to beat.

Minhee, I dont think this was a moral loss at all. We settled for 3s and didnt play enough defense when they made their run. And we showed resiliency and therefore we won it. This IMO actually solidifies our resiliency, no matter how crappy we play. Basketball and plan wise, I think we showed our fundamental flaws
