Come on, man. He was huge for us in a must-win game. Give credit where credit is due. Why do people insist on being Melo fans or AI fans, rather than Nuggets fans? When both guys play well, the team does well. Period.

I have no problem giving credit where credit is due.....AI played his best game in weeks, when we needed it the most. I'm just not ready to call him the savior untill he shows up like a future HOF'er should, when it counts in the playoffs. His performance last year, aside from that first game, was one of the bigger sports let downs that I've had to suffer through. Guy couldn't hit a shot, and Melo couldn't miss, but AI kept jacking. I'm a nuggets fan that will give credit, when I see AI play like he did last night for more then 1 game in the playoffs. As good as AI and Melo both were last night, JR and Eddie saved the day bigtime....and whats even more scary, is there are times when JR is playing like the best player on the floor....with Melo and AI both on it. You can't say enough about how JR and Eddie saved the day in that 2nd quarter, AI and Melo hit big shots...but the shot in that arm from the bench was the game changer.

I agree with you, JR was big and Najera hit his open shots, but AI and Melo's presence had some to do with it. Plus AI was hitting JR in some nice spots as well. It's not like JR did it all by himself.

Hate to break it to you...but JR helps out AI as much as vice versa....same with Melo. If AI doesn't have a shooter like JR to spread the floor...he gets doubled and doesn't get in the paint.....If Melo doesn't have a legit 3 point shooter on the floor...spacing gets f#cked, Melo gets doubled. And as far as doing it yourself goes, JR and Eddie came in and changed the game, single handidly...nugs were down 15 at the end of the first, bench came in and saved the day, up at half. JR was the only nugget that was effective man on man vs. Baron, and Eddie taking charges and getting loose balls was def. huge. If the bench didn't come in and do what they did....we're talking lottery today, end of story.

I agree with everything you said. Why say hate to break it to me? This is a whole new discussion. Your analogy would be I thought that AI and Melo only help JR, which I didn't say. Neither of them can do what they do as sucessful as they do without each other, especially AI and JR. I think they are a lethal combo on the floor together, even moreso than AI and Melo or Melo and JR to be honest. But that probably has some to do with Carter out of the game when JR is in.

I heard alot of people on the chat last night that blamed AI for passing it to Carter or Camby too much. Why? Because they can't hit a wide open shot, especially with Melo getting doubled? He is playing with what he's got on the floor and trusting everyone to hit, especially a wide open shot. I like when he's trusting his teamates, not being selfish and not trying to force things. You don't freeze out 2 players out of 4 because you think they can't get it done. That's not a good teammate. You live and die as a team and what's out there on the court. I'm glad he had that mentality last night because he hit JR and Najera in some sweet spots. The difference is they hit their shots. I personally like the mentality and hopes it continues, whoever is one the court.

but every time I saw him touch the ball in last night's game...ball movement stopped...and I started dribbling. 80% of the time he is playing for the shot or the assist.

not good ball movement. stagnation.

of course he was on fire last night...I'll give him credit for that.

Well that's the kind of player he is if you haven't noticed by now. He's not and will never be a true point that's going to keep passing it around. He stagnates the offense at times, but so does most everyone else on the team, so stop acting like he's the only one. He creates by dribble penetration and is damn good at it, probably one of the best in the league. Alot of the times, whoever he passes to doesn't swing it around, just passes right back or 2 Melo and Melo has the eye on the prize, in a slow ass way I might add while everyone watches.

To swing it around, everyone has to be on the same page and actually do it. I've seen it happen, but not more times than not.

No one will ever say it, but td sometimes stagnates the spurs offense. so does kobe, so does Lebron, Ai, Melo, Mike Redd, Amare, Boozer. All of these guys. So I've heard enough of this Ai ruining the Offense. And yes Jr. Smith is very vital, but right now in his career, he needs Ai and Melo more than they need him.Dont take it out of context ofcourse they need him also, but its a reason they are the two superstars.

No matter what Ai cant win, lets just hope that Denver keeps winning. Lets go Melo, Ai, Jr. Camby, and whoever else.

It is a damn shame. 48-49 wins is still a hell of a lot for an 8 or a 9th place! We'll just have to run this down again next year when Portland is a force and Seattle doesn't suck as much. Maybe the race won't be quite so tight.
