Idk, the Celtics get an awful lot of respect around here.

Can someone explain why?

BTW I am not a hater but instead a lover, I have made threads giving beantown love all season and plus I have a crush on RASHO

thank you and best wishes to your family

because commercials say so..

haha

I think it is because there will be more players watching the game..

the atmosphere will be intense... more pressure

and those that can strive under MAX pressure will succeed.

That's a great example, he earned it in the playoffs and most people give him his dues, but that is contradicting with the respect Boston gets now. Why is that, how come they don't have to prove it in the playoffs like everyone else first?

When you lead your team somewhere as the main option you get respect as a player.

You get respect as a team when your team is considered to have the player(s) to lead you somewhere deep.

Example, everyone respects Kobe's ability but last year no one respected his team as true contenders because they were thought to have holes.

Now he has the roleplayers around him to lead his team deep and everyone respects the Lakers.

So to get respect you have to be an elite team, and to be an elite team you have to have the respect to get the calls. That makes sense...

2003 Playoffs Detroit Pistons vs Orlando Magic
Orlando leads series 3-1
T-Mac makes his happy to be in the second round comment.
Tayshaun Prince uncoils off the bench after sitting most of his rookie season bacause Rick C said he could not play D and he needed to EARN his minutes.

Tay comes off the bench and and Detroit came from 3-1 down to defeat the Magic and blocked AI's attempt at a shot to finnish off Philly.

2003-2004 Detroit Baskeball beats the Laker Dream Team for the Ship
Tay spent most of the time guarding Kobe and he spend most of his time trying to shoot over Tay and drive past him.

2004-2005 Detroit Pistons take San Antoino to 7 games in the Finals
2005-2006 Detroit Pistons lose to Miami in the ECF
2006-2007 Detroit Pistons lose to the Cavs behind Lebron's assent to superstar status
2007-2008

That skinny kid from Compton has a string of games started from his sophomore season that is still going as of last night.

Before the Magic Fans rush out and start talking about some Turkey-Glue. Tayshaun Prince has helped his team to at least the ECF since he got off the bench in his rookie season FIVE years ago.

Earning respect huh

Boston gets respect cause it has 3 potential future HOFs close to their prime and they're on pace for a record season. If you don't have that (as in Magic's case), then you only earn respect by making some noise in the playoffs (unlike getting swept in the 1st round, also in Magic's case).

I only stated the facts; if you think that's an attempt to bait, then that just tells you a thing or two about your team (and hopefully stops this constant demand of unwarranted "respect").

Team-wise

Getting to the CF or Finals or title, or at least a 7-game-long series in round two. Great example of that is Detroit vs. Cleveland in 2006.

Also a low seed [7/8] winning a series against a top seed, or taking a team tough/long in a 1st round series.
The Playoffs don't care about your Analytics

The funny thing it was obvious u were trying to send a message about the magic and I never make posts about the magic b/c I know realgm is funny that way u get deemed a homer. I ALWAYS make threads about other teams and used that post from farzi to ask a question. But because of your hatred and desire to go out of your way to consistently try to bash the magic i thought it was funny you ASSumed i was referring to them.

Sorry, I thought you were one of many Magic fans that come crying on GB asking for respect. One a-hole even went on every single team's board and posted the exact same thread asking "What do you guys think when you see Magic on the schedule?"

Well props to you that you're not one of them.

No problem man, I apologize for getting rude but I'm definitely not the one demanding respect, magic got losses vs. ny and minny this week, obviously does not warrant respect and they need to stop crying about it.
