I'm sure Kobe would risk so much money, his career and position as a top 2 player in the NBA so he can make a cool commercial..Kobe has a brain, he isn't Amare Stoudemire..

this was better..and real..

I mean like that guy said. kevin and bean we're talking about. they are the one of the most popular morning shows in los angeles. no way they would have mentioned anything if he had just made a standard commercial. it got like 20 minutes of free publicity from that and reaching audiences who would never watch sports. all for free. it got this 6 page thread plus tons of other similar ones all over. it got play on the TNT show yesterday.

it is a very effective commercial.

It's just an advertisement. Obviously it's not real, but I'm surprised people think it's a camera trick. I think it's blue screen all the way.

It's a pretty easy effect to produce called rotoscoping. You can google it and see lots of videos done that way. The film two separate takes with an absolutely stable background and camera then slice them together.

The hardest part is probably matching the lighting between the two takes in production. The two shots would need to (ideally) be shots immediately after each other before the light changes at all (like a cloud going overhead or something). After that the video literally takes a few minutes to create.

I admit this got me at first and I was like "WTF? That's too risky"... but soon later learned it was fake. Good job by whoever set it up, convincing.
