Our offensive mindset

Post#1 » by Miller4ever » Sat Apr 12, 2008 3:22 pm

I don't think we attack the basket enough at all. As a team, we are attempting many threes, which is risky, but we also aren't attacking the basket, resulting in low free-throw attempts. With the refs naturally hating a team like ours, we still need to dive in, get more easy baskets or draw fouls. Against Philly, we only had 7 FT attempts on the game, compared to their 21.

I really disagree with Obie's coaching style too. If he wants to attempt 3's all game, at least teach the team to play defense.

Amen please learn to play some D. When we have players like JO, Granger, Foster. We could be one of the best defensive teams in the league. Bring in someone like Collison from the draft, and we would be bad a$$ on D. We still have Dunleavy as a liability, but maybe he can work on it.

We need an upgrade defensively at one of the backcourt spots next season. Russell Westbrook

Defensive nowadays are not predicated on good one on one defenders...though it is nice to have those on the roster.

Good teams require help defensive and team defense more than ever in today's game. And you can't build that without continuity and practice and consistency.

Also who can attack the rim on this team with the exception of Mike D? Maybe a healthy Tinsley? Maybe Flip Murray? Marquis?

Collison would be a good pick. Also keep an eye on either Lawson out of UNC, but I also really like Chalmers, especially w/ the leadership he showed in the title game, and that 3 was clutch. Plus, he has size over both Lawson and Collison, and he can score a little bit better than both as well. I'm not a huge fan of Kansas bball, but Hinrich is pretty good... I think Chalmers could be just as effective, especially w/ Danny and Mike.

Plus, he won't complain about our weather too much, being from Alaska and all...
