The "Official" Indiana Pacers Playoff Watch threa

Post#1 » by rewill17 » Sat Apr 12, 2008 4:40 pm

why I want the Pacers to make the playoffs...

1) Pacers are hot, Hawks are not. I'd rather see a hot team put up a huge fight vs. the Celtics in the first round to take some sweat of them.

2) Hawks are pretty young. Bibby has a few more years and they will have their time to shine. O'Neal and Tinsley got a few years left.

3) I personally would want to see a Pacers/Celtics rematch. (Pierce's scoring outbursts, tech against Tinsley that almost cost him the game, Reggies clutchess in his last playoffs, 6th seeded upsets in 03 and 05 by both teams)

Made a decent rivalry in the mid 2000s. Maybe it can get a re-birth.

4) Come from behind playoff runs are pretty fun to follow...

5) Pacers might get even better if ONeal get freed from the 20 minute limit.

Go Pacers!

they'd be better off not making the playoffs. getting a lottery pick will only allow them to put another solid player around granger and oneal.

They are both 7-3 in their last 10, it

FWIW, the Hawks are 11-4 in their last 15 games with wins over Orlando, Washington, Philly, and Toronto. The Pacers are 10-5 in the last 15 games with wins against Philly and Atlanta.

might be true but I am talking from the viewpoint of a casual fan. The excitment of come from behind playoff runs and the joy of seeing a hot team face off the first seed in the first round is just great.

Besides, the fact the Hawks are facing two pretty tough teams in the their next two games increases the possibility.

It could easily happen that the Pacers make it. Hawks could go 1-2 on this last stretch.

But it's all pretty irrelevant no? Either team is going to get pounded in four games.

reminds of me of that commercial where this guy meets this girl at the door and they fall in love and she wants to marry and have kids but then quickly changes her mind and says what happened to us/we are totally different people and closes the door on him...

then he turns around and takes a gum out and the narrators says "some things last longer than other"...(advertising the longer lasting taste trident i believe)

well there's still a shot, but the heat have to upset the hawks. You better hope Wade, Haslem, and Marion make a comeback for the final game.

I don't think the Hawks should underestimate Chris Quinn. Mike Bibby has the uncanny ability of making everyone around him better... Even the player he's supposed to be guarding.

Heh, even if the Bibby Effect turns Quinn into Chris Paul for the evening, Miami's still trotting out the incomparable frontcourt of Stephane Lasme, Kasib Powell, and Mark Blount. Jordan himself couldn't lead that roster to 25+ wins.

But Stephane Lasme averages 1.6 blocks per game!

I doubt yall gonna make the playoffs now

2 games left, and atlanta would have to lose both and you guys would have to win 2.

Plus Pacers don't seem like a better team than Atlanta. Hawks to me seem like they would put up a better fight. With the lights of Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby, Josh Smith, Al Hoiford, Marvin Williams.

the hawks played evenly matched with the celtics starters. its our bench we need help. we lost becuase it was tired hawk starters vs a fresh celtic bench..

I can promise that the Celtics won't win 4 games in blowout fashion. There will be at least a couple good games.
