Lebron vs David Robinson: Athletic Prime

Post#1 » by kooldude » Sun Apr 13, 2008 3:51 am

I think Drob is more athletic than even Lebron. There were stories of him beating his entire team in sprints during practices and that speed is displayed here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CKVqpXl3M18

In the videos I seen of Drob, he looks like the most athletic player I ever seen, outside Vince Carter. Tremendous body coordination, strength, end-to-end speed, quickness, and explosiveness.

What do you think?

In my opinion it is Robinson... There was a story that he(Robinson) got his team out of practice by betting coach Lucas that he could walk on his hands from one side of the court and back. Well he did it quite easily.

The thing that make Lebron so amazing is his combination of skills that match his physical ability. Nevertheless... Lebron is still young and we still don't know what his prime will be physically.

Pretty hard to compare Cs and SFs. Still, Robinson was a pretty amazing athlete - apparently he dominated in gymnastics in the Navy, despite his massive size.
LeBron is pretty huge too though, and has serious hops, first step and lateral quickness. He's also better proportioned than D-Rob, who had a huge upper body, but tiny legs. To me it's more or less a tie.

Well I think you can only compare position guys, and I think Robinson is a top 3 athlete at the C spot, but I think LeBron is the number 1 guy on the wing.

I consider Hakeem the more fluid athlete than D-Rob, with comparable measurables. I consider LeBron above the level of both. I don't think I've ever seen an athlete like LeBron in the NBA.

2 of the 10 best athletes in NBA history, so it's tough to separate them.

Robinson was quicker for his position than LeBron is, but then again LeBron is stronger for his position than Robinson was.

Why do people call Robinson, D-Rob instead of the Admiral, the Admiral is a much cooler nickname
