Best Bench in the East
Which team has the best bench in the East?
I'm going to go with Washington, not just because the sixth man is Gilbert Arenas, but also because Songaila, Mason, and Blatche round out a very good 9 man rotation.
Who do you guys have?

Deep but not the best. Maxiell is definitely better than Songaila but Roger Mason Jr., a guy who will probably get only 15 minutes a game come playoff time, is better than any backup guard the Pistons have.
Rodney Stuckey says hello.
Mason(season):
8.8 pts 1.5 rebs 1.7 asts 0.50 stls 0.23 blks 44% fg 88% ft in 20.9 mpg
Stuckey(season):
7.4 pts 2.2 rebs 2.8 asts 0.89 stls 0.11 blks 41% fg 79% ft in 18.6 mpg.
Mason (April):
8.0 pts 1.5 rebs 1.3 asts 0.5 stls 0.0 blks 49% fg 100% ft (5-5) 15.3 mpg.
Stuckey (April):
15.0 pts 3.0 rebs 4.6 asts 1.1 stls 0.1 blks 44% fg 86% ft (36-42) 27.1 mpg.

Ben Gordon - 18.9 ppg 3.1 rpg 3.0 apg 43.3 FG% 41.3 3PT%
Thabo Sefolosha - 6.6 ppg 3.6 rpg 1.7 apg 42.5 FG% 33.7 3PT%
Andres Nocioni 13.1 ppg 4.2 rpg 1.2 apg 42.8 FG% 36.2 3PT%
Drew Gooden - 14.0 ppg 9.3 rpg 1.7 apg 1.3 bpg 46.1 FG%
Aaron Gray - 4.0 ppg 2.4 rpg 0.7 apg 50.3 FG%
Issues chemistry wise, but that has got to be one of the most talented bench 1-5s in the league.

My point was how is Toronto's bench > Piston's bench, if Piston's bench > Toronto's starters
Because Toronto's strength is their depth of decent players. The starters aren't impressive, but outside of Bosh they don't lose much when they go to the bench.
But I didn't realize Gordon wasn't starting for the Bulls. They would probably be my pick.

As a Toronto fan who watches a ton of Raps games, I really disagree. Our bench was performing well last season, but this season we lose a ton of games when our bench gets blown out by the opposing bench. Outside of Calderon, the Raps bench is pretty weak. There is pretty much nobody on the bench who can create their own offense, and that is a huge problem. Our bench is also extremely weak defensively, with Calderon, Kapono and Humphries being sieves, Delfino always trying to draw charges but always getting called on blocking fouls, and Bargs playing OK man d, but very poor help d for a center.

Look at the minutes played in April. Sure, Stuckey will be a real good player in the long-term...will probably become a starting-caliber guy. However, for now, I'd take Mason because he knows his role (shooter) and fills it so well while also playing good defense.
And he's earned those minutes from great play. If Stuckey can earn 27 mpg in April playing behind Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton.... why can't Mason get playing time in April behind DeShawn Stevenson and Antonio Daniels?
And for the season, Stuckey outperforms Mason in every way in fewer minutes, besides his shooting percentages that have gone up each month after he returned from hand surgery. Oh, and Stuckey knows his role too.
