Melo sets TERRIBLE picks. I've said this a hundred times. He doesn't even set picks, he just slips the screen the minute he gets there.

Watch tape of AI & Nene last year - Nene set good picks, sealed his man and rolled like you are supposed to. And he got the ball.

AI will never be a Nash or Paul, but its not all on him either....

Your absolutely right. I guess people are blinded by Melo's sweet mid- range jump shot and don't watch anything else. If he's not hitting his shots and not making an effort to rebound, he still has a lot of work to do IMO. It could be laziness, smarts or just not mature enough yet, who knows.

Oh give me a **** break, you guys seriously defend AI to the death.
I've seen Kmart set a solid pick, and roll to the basket where he'd have a wide open dunk dozens of times this season, but he rarely gets the ball.

Yeah it worked well last year, but it was under used. Anyone who watched the last two months of last season/playoffs will tell you Nene wasn't getting nearly enough touches.
Same could be said in that short stint we had Nene healthy this season (late december?). I specifically remember watching him set picks for AI, roll to the basket and not get the ball.

Yeah and I'm the one not watching the games. This coming from someone who didn't even know the Nuggets existed before December of 06.

Who gives a **** who's fault it is, it doesn't happen right for the sake of the Nuggets, so who cares and open your **** bias eyes. You look at AI being the guilty party to everything and your a Nuggets fan? Last time I checked AI was part of the Nuggets and they have far cmplex problems than AI. Give me a **** break.

Not always, but sometimes. Setting a good pick is a pretty essential part of the pick and roll.

And like I said before, the only people that set good picks on this team are K-Mart and Najera(Nene is the best when healthy). It's also a play that isn't run all that much outside of AI and Melo, they'll run it with K-Mart sometimes but not all that often. And of course AI has missed Martin and others off the screen more often than he should. Does it mean the pick and roll offense on this team not being top notch is all on AI? No. This team on a whole sets way too many weak screens.

I'm not gonna really get into it further, because this is really a pretty minor issue with this team to me, but people continue to complain about it and other trivial things so that they can continue the ridiculous cheap shots at Melo and AI. I'd be far more worried about the poor rotations on D, the bigs almost never boxing out, no one getting a hand up on the perimeter, Karl's terrible rotations. But hey let's continue to complain because Melo and Ai aren't that second coming of Pippen/Jordan and certain fans have an inferiority complex about Melo or AI.

I agree that Melo sets bad screens but it works well enough that AI is able to get a shot off.

I think the nuggets have far more problems then AI, but AI fans on this page want the nuggets to custom build a team around him, when at this current time, he's not the best option on offense. Melo might not set perfect screens, but half of the pick and roll is setting your man up for a screen, I could easily say that the ball handler does a bad job of setting the defender up to have a screen set.....I was replying to the bogus post above me about how AI doesn't pass of the pick and roll, due to bad picks being set. Our offense was more fluent before AI got here, didn't expect you to know that though, cause you were busy watching AI dribble around and win nothing in Philly. No worries.

At least I'm watching last year and this year, it seems you haven't watched a single game with some of your spewing about nothing.

I know....I would be upset too if I was you, and I followed AI to Denver on the backside of his career....and the nuggets didn't bend over backwards to accomadate the biggest jacker in the history of the game on his quest of winning an NBA title to validate a career of being a volume scorer and an awful defender that was too small to play the 2, and couldn't learn to run the point. And thanks again for coming over with AI...so what I want you to do is wear your AI jersey to the pepsi center, ask for Mr. Kroenke, and explain clearly to him that you've been watching games for the last year and a half since AI has been here, and demand an official Nuggets Fan merit badge, cause clearly you meet the criteria.
And when you're done with that, stop by sec. 118 and tell me again that I haven't watched a game.....if mommy would let you fly all the way to Denver.

Yeah and the Nuggets are some storied franchise. AI ruined everything. Now I know why your upset. Give me a break guy.

I feel sorry for the crap you had to go through, especially paying money to see it. At least this year they are selling out alot more so the crowds are better, because of mmm AI.

You're right, this wasn't a storied franchise......but we atleast had a streak of making the playoffs every year since drafting Melo, which was an accomplishment on some of those teams.....something that is in jeapordy now that AI is here. But hey, we up our payroll, and results go down....exactly what I thought might happen after the trade.

Blame the franchise for not getting the right fit, not by getting season tickets either. And who's to say the Nuggets would of made the playoffs this year? I mean that would be some crazy optimism.
