Both were foreign, with upside and have been disappointing. More hope on YI than bargs

I don't think Yi was that disappointing, he showed a lot more than I thought he would, looks like he has a bright future, much tougher than I anticipated.

If we are comparing rookie seasons, I'd take Bargnani.

If we are comparing them now, its a toss up.

Bargnani is a better defender [Opp eFG%: 48%, OPP PER: 13.8 compared to Yi's Opp eFG%: 51 and Opp PER: 16.8], better 3-point shooter.

They both go to the line at the same clip [4 FTA per game]

Yi is a better rebounder, less foul prone and interior finisher/player.

We've been agreeing on everything lately.

Yi no doubt.

Yi easily. Even if they both are busts, Yi is faster and has a sweeter looking shot. Plus if you have him on your team, your team makes so much money they have no excuse not to go over the luxury tax.

Bargs isn't even looking to shoot. What did Smitch do to him?

It is way too early to tell.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

Heh, at this point, we're better off when he doesn't shoot; his shooting form, a strength last year, have devolved to the point where the majority of his attempts don't clear the front rim.

As for the comparison, it's hard to say; I would favour Yi, but he too struggled badly as the season progressed, even before his injury. With evidence mounting that he is actually a year older than Bargs, it is slightly less certain whether he will be the superior player long-term.

Both players have struggled immensely, but I think Yi still has a very bright future ahead of him.

Assuming that Yi is actually a year older (Schadenfreude, could you provide a link supporting this claim?), I would still pick Yi over Bargnani based on the fact he seems more fundamentally solid than Bargnani, plus has the shotblocking and rebounding skills that the Raptors are in desperate need of.

I like Yi so far. Yi has shown more versatility than Bargnani.

DX revised his birth date to 1984, for a few reasons:

- Last year, hackers infiltrated a Chinese government registry, and his DOB was listed as 1984.

- He entered college in 2003...if his 1987 birth date was correct, he would have been 16 years old at the time, which is highly unlikely.

- Most of the vet Bucks fans in this thread seem resigned to the fact that he is older than advertised.

No proof either way, but there does seem to be considerable evidence that his DOB was fudged.
