Decision on Krystkowiak will come quickly
Larry Krystkowiak apparently will know sooner rather than later whether he will continue coaching the Milwaukee Bucks.
Krystkowiak says he would encourage new general manager John Hammond to quickly announce a decision on the future of the coaching staff. Hammond was vague about the matter Friday, the day he was hired away from the Detroit Pistons, but seemed receptive to Krystkowiak's idea Sunday.
"Anytime someone is in a position like this, the best answer you can give is a definite 'yes,' " Hammond said. "The second-best answer is a definite 'no.' The worst answer is, 'I don't know, you'll have to wait.'
"You want to be as fair as possible and while there is no time frame, out of consideration to everyone you want to make a decision in the proper time frame."
Asked if the coaching situation was high on his "to-do" list, Hammond said, "It's the top priority."
Hammond and Krystkowiak have spoken on the phone, and Hammond watched his first game as general manager on Saturday at the Bradley Center, where the Bucks extended their losing streak to six games in a 111-98 loss to the New Jersey Nets.
The two are expected to have a face-to-face meeting sometime this week. Hammond returned to Detroit on Sunday but will be back for the home finale tonight against the Chicago Bulls and he will accompany the team to Minnesota for the final game of the season on Wednesday.
Krystkowiak, who called the addition of Hammond a "good hire," is looking forward to meeting with the new general manager but would not disclose what he thought would be discussed.
"I think that's going to be a pretty private conversation between the two of us," Krystkowiak said. "I'll answer as many questions and give as much input as I'm asked to give. Beyond that, I think we're all in a period of evaluation and are just going to try and be fair with it. It's going to be a two-person conversation."
Asked if he would encourage Hammond to make a prompt decision on the future of the coaching staff rather than drag things out, Krystkowiak said: "Yes, that's fair. I don't think it's going to be a situation that's strung out. No doubt.
"If I were on either side of the fence, I think you'd want to get the situation resolved. Everything I've been told about John is he's a person that's like that . . . that wants to take care of details and move on to the next one. I understand he treats people right and that's all you can ask."
The closing stretch of the season has been a sorry one for the Bucks (26-54).
There was a sense of renewed hope and optimism after they won three of their first four games after the all-star break. But since then - beginning with a loss on Feb. 28 at New Jersey - the Bucks have a 4-19 record. Only Miami (3-21), the Los Angeles Clippers (4-20) and Seattle (3-19) have worse records since the beginning of March.
The loss Saturday dropped the Bucks to 19-21 at the Bradley Center, meaning they are guaranteed a losing record at home for the second straight season. The Bucks also no longer have a chance of bettering their 28-54 record of last season.
"Everybody knows the situation," Krystkowiak said. "It's been rough on all of us. Once we can sit down when the season is over and evaluate our guys and where we're going, and what direction we're going in . . . I want nothing more than to be a part of it.
"But at the same time, I'm going to be of an understanding mind if I'm not the guy. It's a situation where I certainly want to be a part of it but if that's not the case, then I know they can find the right guy that will take over."

Out of all seriousness, I would like to see Kryskowiak working under someone as an assistant.. probably not with this team because his ego wouldn't allow it, but under an experienced coach he could learn alot. It was the wrong move to promote him without him getting more assistant coaching experience at the NBA level. With some seasoning and under the direction of a good head coach he could end up being a very good coach in this league.. but he just wasn't ready for this yet.

I will grant you that he really had no chance to succeed with the group of players he had. It's also difficult to pin the bad chemistry on him. However, his offensive schemes and game management (ie plays called out of timeouts) left a LOT to be desired. He was astoundingly unimaginative offensively.

With two games left in this miserable season, about the only thing that Bucks fans have to look forward to is the NBA Draft.
So let's take take a glance.
JSOnline ran ESPN.com's mock NBA draft lottery 20 times. The results are as follows:
No. 8 pick -- Four times.
No. 7 pick -- 10 times.
No. 3 pick -- Twice.
No. 2 pick -- Twice
No. 1 pick -- Twice.
The two most popular selections according to the computer at No. 7 and No. 8 were UCLA guard Russell Westbrook (7 times) and Indiana guard Eric Gordon (6 times).
When the computer selected the No. 1 or No. 2 pick for the Bucks, Kansas State forward Michael Beasley was the choice on three of four occasions. Memphis point guard Derrick Rose was selected by the draft simulator once.
The mock board on NBADraft.net says the Bucks will go the international route again at No. 6 and select Danilo Gallinari of Italy.

Bucks 'Virtual' Defense Still Has a Ways To Go

It's been apparent to everyone associated with the Milwaukee Bucks this season that the main problems with the team start at the defensive end of the court.
So JSOnline decided to play five consecutive games of NBA 2K8 to see if the Bucks defense has hopes of improving. The results are as follows-
Game 1. Cavaliers 103-Bucks 97
Game 2. Bucks 84-Hawks 73
Game 3. Bucks 91-Spurs 99
Game 4. Bulls 76-Bucks 69
Game 5. Bucks 102-Bobcats 84
There you have it. It seems as though Milwaukee struggled to defend teams with winning records but didn't have any trouble filling up the scoreboard against sub-par clubs. A 360 Windmill dunk by Bucks' forward Desmond Mason was voted "play of the game" by video game announcer Kenny Smith.
