yeah, both the mavs and nuggets took the season series 3-1 against the warriors. in a three team tie, the combined head to head records are considered. the warriors 2-6 record against mavs/nuggets isn't going to cut it.

yea.

in that situation you look at each teams combined record against the other 2 opponents.

denver against gsw/dal: 5-2
dallas against den/gsw: 4-2
warriors against dal/den: 2-6

edit: beat to it.

Never at any point did I consider the idea that Dallas was going to lose to both Portland and Seattle after their impressive wins vs. my Suns and the Utah Jazz. I mean how Jekyll & Hyde does it get for these WC teams?

Top teams sleeps on crappy teams. But these are western teams they could have probably made the POs in east if they didn't have to face stacked western teams.

I know the West is superior, but come on, at least make sense. The Sonics are not better than the Hawks. You'll recall the Hawks beat Dallas and Phoenix in two of their first four games... game-by-game outcomes don't tell you a whole lot.
