1st round thread - Who do you want? Dallas? Denver? GS?

Post#1 » by Doctor. » Mon Apr 14, 2008 2:57 am

As of today, it seams obvious that Lakers will play Denver in the 1st round of the playoffs. Lakers still need to beat Kings at home to secure their 1st seat while Nuggets still need to beet Grizzlies at home, but it is highly likely that these two teams will finish 1st and 8th and play in the first round.

Lakers wan the season series 3-0 with both games in LA being blowouts and the one in Denver being close.

mavs are down 6 to the sonics in the 4th. if the mavs lose this and then lose to the hornets (very very possible) and the nuggets beat the freakin grizz, the lakers will be playing the mavs.

If we lost to the Kings, we could become the 4th seed and facing Utah.

The highest the Lakers can be is 3rd and thats saying the lakers lose to sacramento and the spurs, hornets, and roxs win there remaining games.

But like you guys are saying its VERY possible we could face dallas. Personally i think we can beat the mavs or the nuggs, we've had both there number for years. The only teams im afraid of are the suns and thhe playoff spurs at full strength

If we lose against the kings, NO wins out, spurs win out, rockets win after today. Then if the mavericks lose the next two. We could play the suns in the first round.

I can easily see Sasha baiting Melo into a fight, and Melo takes a swing and gets suspended.

GOOOOO Sasha

As long as the Hornets don't loose until the Dallas game I think they won't have much to play for against Dallas. So they could just Shut it down for that game

Who do you want to play in the first round?

Post#11 » by Chubby Chaser » Mon Apr 14, 2008 4:59 am

Pretty self explanatory. Who do you want to play in the first round? I think we should avoid the warriors at all cost. They just seem to have our number when we play. I also think we should try and avoid Denver too. Iverson always goes crazy against us, and Lamar always struggles to guard Carmelo. Any other year Denver would be a 4 or 5 ranked team. I think we match up pretty well with Dallas, and Kobe has been known to go go off on them. They don't scare me at all. If I had a choice of who we'd face in the first round it would go:

Dallas
Denver
Warriors

In that order. Just curious what you guys think?

On a side note. Get your laker flags!

These European dudes get though when the game counts, look what happened to Chandler Tyson the other day. This is only the beginning.

As two NBA basketball referees walked through the countryside, they noticed some tracks. First said, 'Deer tracks?' Second said 'No, bear tracks.' However, the conversation ended abruptly when a train hit them

The Lakers are most likely going to play Denver because if the Spurs and Rockets don't lose another game and the Hornets lose their final game against Dallas the Hornets still hold the tiebreaker among those 3 teams. So the worse they can do is the 2 seed. The Scenario is this in a three way tiebreaker Houston loses because of their mediocre record in the SW division so with only the Spurs and Hornets still tied up both their conference records come into play in that record the Hornets have 2 less conference losses than the Spurs with one game left for the Hornets. So with that final tiebreaker the Hornets will get the 2 seed followed by the Spurs at 3 and the Rockets will fall to the 5 seed. Basically even with their 2 recent losses the Hornets really have nothing left to play for. Of course all this only happens if the Lakers take care of business against the Kings.

Not sure probably Denver. Then again they're defense will actually be good with Nene AND Camby.
