It seemed strange to me that he was waived like he was...apparently it was some sort of request by Noel, because he got a better offer? Or something?

At least this makes a little sense. He was tearing up the D-League a bit (for what that's worth) and I guess he caught the eye of an overseas scout...
Still no clue as to what team signed him, or anything like that. Assuming that he will be paying in Italy next year, it's probably a good move for Noel.
I mean, c'mon. Making big money in Europe (and being paid in Euros) and hanging out with hot Italian chicks > D-League in Boise.

if it was such old news bucks revenge, it would have been nice if you had informed/enlightened us earlier since you knew it rather than coming forth now and saying this is old news.
I see this as kind of like the Respert thing. I know there are some people on this board who knew he had cancer and never said anything until Respert talked about it about 5 years later, and then the all came out of the wood wor k and said, I knew he had cancer when he was playing for the bucks.
yeah right. if you knew, you should have shared.

I think it was Chuck who said he had signed with Benetton Treviso.
EDIT: He said Noel was close to signing with Treviso.

The Bucks have been like a farm system for European teams the last few years. Noel is going to Italy, Markota is in Lithuania, Greer is in Greece, Jared Reiner is in Germany, Chris McCray is in Belgium, Reece Gaines is in Italy and Ilyasova, Marcus Haislip, Jiri Welsch and Daniel Santiago are in Spain.

...............................................well it was in the JS (our beloved local paper) the day after he was released. Maybe JS deserves more respect here then it's getting.
SHIPPING OUT: The Bucks waived forward David Noel last week so he would have an opportunity to play in Europe. At least, that's Krystkowiak's understanding.
"I don't think this was a situation where we just let him go," Krystkowiak said. "I think he had an opportunity to play overseas. It was kind of a mutual agreement kind of thing. I think he's going to Italy."
Noel was averaging 20.8 points and 6.0 rebounds with Tulsa of the D-League.

Marcus Haislip is doing quite well in Spain right now, too... Not that I'd ever consider bringing him back.

Yep and according to Babcock he fully expects him to be in the NBA real soon.. he appears to be a fan of Haislips game and how he's developing.Wade-A-Holic wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
