Gotta love how they use "kobe this is not life time achivement" while people who voted for kobe are saying they're not voting for his life time achievement..
And they use the excuse of turning team around from bottom to top. No shi* ur team's going to turn around its not he same as last season's team. Thats why lakers on top as well. Such hipocracy. They want to give it to players because they had different roster situation in 2007 than today? Thats not called turning anything its called having luck and great front office.

There were long stretches where Kobe played nearly flawless basketball while the Lakers endured one injury after another. And Los Angeles didn't fade as expected. Outside of Paul, who had a better year in the leadership department? Bryant is the greatest player of his generation. Giving him the award would restore its credibility.
yet he is voting for Paul.

Previous years:
"Well Kobe doesn't make his teammates better!"
This year:
"Well the Lakers don't have the best record in the West"
Presently:
"Well the award is not a lifetime achievement award"
oh and
"Well even though he is arguably the best player and the best 2 way player he doesn't hold the best statistics"
Chad Ford, Hollinger has Kobe #4

People were saying this while the Lakers were not #1 in the West though, so it isn't just some new invention. Not like Kobe hasn't done enough this season to get the award, but to say people just started saying that after yesterdays game is false.

I'm pretty sure the overwhelming majority of people believe that he deserves it based on how this season has gone. They are just taking that weak ass argument and running with it.
When your hanging on by a thread and your down to one finger left, you continue to hold on(its terrible). As long as we win this last game KOBE WILL BE MVP.
Oh and Hollinjerk is by far the worst because its clearly obvious that whatever he says is SH** and he will do anything possible to try and give his "PER" more validity than it should have. If things exist that makes "PER" look bad then he will come up with a way to object. IS HE KNOWN FOR ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF "PER" TO EVEN HAVE HIS OPINION ON ESPN.

Hollinger on Kobe:
WHAT???
He has played ALL 81 GAMES THUS Far and Hollinger is making this argument? Did Kobe sit out with a ligament tear? Hollinger is the same Guy who said Kobe should take the knife and get a surgery and not try to be a hero!
Kobe is a favorite because he's never won and the Lakers are likely to finish first in the West. But he didn't have his best season individually -- and the first half of the season, when he was still feeling out whether he wanted to get with the program or not, still sits on his record. I'd draft him ahead of Chris Paul in a heartbeat, but over this 82-game body of work, Paul, Garnett and James were better.

How are Kobe fans still complaining? They said that he should be the MVP, he obviously isn't a slam dunk because he doesn't have the best numbers and he isn't on the best team. Can't you just be happy that he will win it?
As for Hollinger and Ford, I'm pretty sure they don't hate Kobe. I know Hollinger thought he should have been the MVP a couple of years back. That is probably one of my othe favorite realgm trends, say that Hollinger "hates" your team or favorite player because he doesn't think they are the best ever.

Here are his pick previously:

* 2005 Kevin Garnett
* 2004 Kevin Garnett

How are you missing the point of why some people are complaining?
There is no guarantee that he will win, primarily because of the few people who have that "Hollinger" mindset where they feel the need to sabotage the voting. There is certainly nothing wrong with selecting CP3 over Kobe, although I would love to see arguments that are convincing, but to have him 4th behind LeBron? Come on...

Hate might be a strong word, but they are clearly not being very objective with their voting. The reasoning that they use is absurd.

Guys, it's gonna be a close vote no matter what. There's several deserving players. I'm sorry that everyone isn't bowing down to the Lord of the Universe, Kobe Bryant, but it's not gonna happen.
It's like you want him to be treated like Jordan or something. What would be good enough for you guys?

I don't know if you read the ESPN analysis but ILikeGrizz, did you read it?
Do you really think that Kobe should come in 4th in the MVP voting?
I feel either Kobe or Paul should get the award but to say Kobe doesn't deserve it because the award isn't a life-achievement award? Come on man, you know Kobe has been exceptional throughout the season!
All I'm saying is, Chad Ford and Hollinger are talking out of their Arses!

Gasol for MVP
Why doesn't Gasol get any mention for MVP?
The Lakers are 21-5 with Gasol. They were 35 - 20 without him.
That's a winning percentage of 0.636, good for only 7th in the West.
So why does Kobe get all the credit, why not Gasol?
Would we even be mentioning Kobe if the Lakers were a 7th seed?
In the last few years the Lakers finished 7th and 8th. Now with Gasol they are 1st. The Lakers are winning over 80% of the games Gasol plays in. How can he not be in the discussion? At the very least, he takes away a lot of votes for Kobe.
For my money, the MVP is Chris Paul.
(For those that are going to reply and tell me how much more important Kobe is than Gasol, I know that already. I also know that he's the best player in the league. But that doesn't necessarily make him the MVP. Just trying to play devil's advocate. I think these are important statistics because it shows that the Lakers are only so-so without Gasol.)

Then don't make stupid jokes!
You could use same arguments with other teams, what are the Spurs without Manu, what are the Hornets without David West, what are the Jazz without Kyle Korver, blah blah blah!
Edited:
And if You believe the Lakers would be 7th without Gasol, then that is pretty good because a 7th seed gets you 50+ wins this year and to do it without Bynum and Gasol is pretty good in my book!
That's like asking well, how would Paul and Hornets be without West and Chandler, would they be 7th, could you make a case for him then? Yea just playing Devil's Advocate!
