Michael Beasley and other future NBA players?
I didn't really think that this belonged in the draft thread. The reason being is that I don't see how Beasley would become a Phoenix Sun.
However that is exactly what this thread is about. Which is why it doesn't belong in the Draft thread.
My question I pose is:
Q: Could Michael Beasley and Amare Stoudemire co-exist and thrive?
A: I think yes!
Q: What would we have to give up to get the #1 from the Heat?(Assuming they get the #1.)
A: No idea! Barbosa, our #15, and a future second rounder???? Like I said No idea!
Q: If there was one player from this draft you could get who would it be?
A: Beasley, he just seems NBA ready. A lot like Durant and Oden last year. I think his talent is Amare-esque. I think even with Dantoni that he would get regular playing time.

Re: Michael Beasley and other future NBA players?
Q: Could Michael Beasley and Amare Stoudemire co-exist and thrive?
A: maybe, but probably not. I see Beasley as more of a PF than a SF. I like Amare dominating the PF position, Beasley prob can't play Center, so I'd say no.
Q: What would we have to give up to get the #1 from the Heat?(Assuming they get the #1.)
A: Nothing. There is no possible way we can get that pick, and the Heat don't even have it yet.
Q: If there was one player from this draft you could get who would it be?
A: Actually, I'd rather have Bayless, he is just as NBA ready as Beasley and is pretty much the guard of the future, he's from Phoenix, and the Suns have a strong PG tradition. He can learn what he needs from Nash and will be able to take over in a couple of years when Nash is at his decline.
We should offer Barbosa & #15 to whoever lands the #3 pick.

1) No they are both better at the PF spot. They both play bad defense. They both get into easy foul trouble. I think it would be a nightmare for us.
2) No we cannot. The teams that don't want Beasley can get Rose. Nobody is going to pass up on both of those talents.
3) I would like to get Rose (not likely) or OJ Mayo (more likely). Say that Mayo drops to the Bobcats pick (which may happen). The Bobcats can need a combo guard to come off the bench and a big man. Barbosa and the 15 could fill their need.

Yup and Kwame Brown = Gasol.
IMO, Portland would be very interested in that kind of deal.
Yeah, because we know how often you can trade a terrible player for an all-star. That **** was an enigma. We probably won't see anything like that ever again.

Exactly. With that kind of logic, we can throw all the damn trade talk over board since everybody can come up with this kind of argumentation. Lets try to focus on the "normal cases" instead of the few totally lopsided freak trades.

There are def teams out there that wud consider Barbs +15th pick for the 3rd pick.
Barbs has been frustratin 2 watch handle the point, but he's got a lot more value then sum peeps seem to think.
Not many guards with his speed and scoring ability out there. If we trade him I wudn't be surprised if he winds up a 22/4/4 type that comes back to bite us in the butts playing as starting SG on a diff team.
Rose or Beasley are worth more then that package, but that's it.
As much as I like Bayless, trading him for Barbs + 15th comes nowhere near being a bad trade.
After the top 2 picks there's a significant drop in value and the diff between the worth of 3rd and 15th picks isn't massive. Still gonna be some real good talent left out there come pick number 15
Yes, we will see trades like that go down again. Wasn't the first bonehead trade pulled off and def won't be the last.
Notice how if the Kwame trade trend keeps up Memphis will prolly end getting Dwight Howard for cake man! (Kwame for Butler...Kwame for Gasol...Kwame for Dwight)

The way Wallace handled things this season, I could actually see him resign Kwame due to exactly this reason

He'd play more center, I mean Shaq's minutes aren't going to be there forever and probably won't be 28-30 mpg in his final season the way they are now.
Beasley will be a 3/4 and Amare a 4/5, I don't see the problem.

They'd also prolly have my fave forward combo in the NBA
I agree that they would be a mondo tag team for rebounds. I also see them going to be tough with Zo possibly coming back. Put him in at starting C. They would be tough. But Boston and Detroit still own the east.
I don't agree with Vertical Limit about the finals. The Heat would have no depth. Plus you go up against teams like SA and PHX and LAL. Man that is just too tough. It could go anywhere.
I think Beasley is a special case. I just see something there I don't know. I have my beer goggles on!
I agree that Bayless would be a great pick up. This Playoffs and Post-season will be pivotal. I want to see how Kerr handles our situation.

I don't think Zo will come back, last summer he said this was gonna be his last season, but whoever it is they put at C they'd be a scary rebounding team with Beasley/Trix.
Barbs+15th pick for Bayless cud def wind up to be a good trade for both teams. They have similar skillsets, but I see Bayless as a better playmaker. Barbs' package of shooting/scoring/speed wud make him a deadly starting SG on a diff team
