Bobcats' board consensus picks - No.5

Post#1 » by doc.end » Tue Apr 15, 2008 6:54 am

Here we are again. Just few notes:

- i will let players who are known to return in polls, at least the important ones like Griffin, and mark their returning status in the final list. We started soon enough to vote some extra players who will possibly return for another year. (i won't add returning players like Harden as options on purpose, but if it happens nad i found out too late he won't be available, I will offer them as options until we outvote them).

- so consider these players like available to be picked this year i.e. see the option like for example "B.Griffin, if he'd declared in 08"

-assume no trades with the pick or players, we are trying to find out best players for us.

There is a list of players we picked so far in other threads as BPA to keep and become a part of our roster (returning players in italics):

1. M.Beasley (12-3)
2. D.Rose (14-0)
3. OJ Mayo (9-4 over Griffin)
3b. B.Griffin (7-3 over Bayless)

This is where it starts to get tough!

I went with Jennifer's lesser known cousin.

There's no option to trade the pick this year, so, I'm just picking guys who's name I like the most.

But I don't want to pick any American white guys. Are there any on this list besides K.Love?

Brook Lopez. Gallinari is a foreign white guy.

I picked Randolph. I don't really want any of these shoot-first PGs, and there are some good PFs out there, so I'm going in that direction until they run out.

Ok, will have to steer clear of him.

I had been voting Bayless, since I like that name.

I might vote Speights, since that's a cool name, too.

I would still prefer a "trade the pick" option.

Who are these good PFs? Are there any that are tall (6'11" maybe), agile, true PFs (can't play them at center) that are quick enough to defend guys like Bosh out on the perimeter, but smart enough and strong enough to block out guys for rebounds? I don't care so much about their offense, but I guess they need to have some if we expect them to start at PF, and are investing a lottery pick on them. Who would I like?

ham, unfortunately there isnt one player who fits all your traits... that would be great if there was, but randolph comes the closest to what you are looking for.

I find it ironic that you would poo-poo the Hammers so much and refuse to vote in them and then approach doc's threads with this sort of attitude:

I had been voting Bayless, since I like that name.

I might vote Speights, since that's a cool name, too.

There is no option for me to vote "trade the pick" like last year, these threads are being done while the season is still going on so I haven't switched over to a draft mindset and started researching these lesser known players, and I like to click the poll buttons.

You tell me how I reconcile all of these things.

Yeah, Randolph is tall, agile, should be able to defend the Boshes of the world, and can play offense. He's actually still 18, as well.

Downsides: He's skinny and will get absued in the post. He's a good leaper, and hence can rebound pretty well, but it remains to be seen if he's more like a 6'11" Marion or a 6'11" Travis Outlaw.

I also like Darrell Arthur, though I'll probably vote Lopez before him.

there is a write-in option for a reason - there is only ten addable options in these polls, I follow mock drafts, sorry, i don't need you to tell what to do every thread. For your information IO was thinking about Augustin to add but I prefer to go with another PF (and fulfill your wish to add M.Speights).

was that really necessary?

obviously the next poll will have one of these guys removed after they win this vote. slam was suggesting you replace that person with DJ, which sounds entirely reasonable.
