Okay...how is Deron Williams a better all-around player than Chris Paul?
I really need that one explained.

paul vs. williams Close, but I take CP3's slightly better playmaking and defense over Dwill's better shooting.

ginobli vs. wade Laughable (and I don't like either player). The overrating of Ginobili has really gotten out of hand IMO. People are putting him on their MVP ballots. He's a great player but he's not top tier. I take Wade, even the not 100% version of this year, ahead of Ginobili.

prince vs. battier Comparable D but prince is better offensive player

brand vs. boozer Boozer has been more consistently productive recently due to Brand's injury. Although Brand is a much better defender. This one is really a tossup. Put Brand's injuries aside and he easily wins.

chandler vs. camby Marcus is an overrated player who can't even THINK about playing even passable man D and who doesn't bother to show up everyday. He also thinks he's a PG for some reason.

Here's what I don't get...Chris Paul is better than Deron Williams on offense, and it's not even close when it comes to defense. So there's no way Chris Paul isn't a better all-around player than Deron Williams. Wade vs. Ginobili? Is that serious? Obviously it's Wade by a wide margin. Prince and Battier...Battier is a DPOY candidate this year, and is one of the most fundamentally sound offensive players in basketball. I get the impression people are choosing Prince out of respect for his reputation or his ring from 4 years ago, because right now Battier is clearly a better all-around player. Brand vs. Boozer...come on, on offense it would be a close call, but factor in defense and it's as much a landslide as Paul vs. Deron. Chandler vs. Camby...Another no-brainer, Camby.

Well, maybe I didn't take into account Paul's defense enough, and just not seeing it enough myself yet. Which is something I've wanted to increase my grasp on for a bit. Outside of steals and rebounds, I don't know how effective and consistent of a defender he is. I have to see that more and haven't heard much that makes him solid/good as a defender.

But I like Deron's post-up ability, playoff experience, overall size, jumpshot, durability (injuries are injuries, but there's better favorability for the future). His defense isn't bad at all from what I've gathered, which has been enough in terms of seeing him and reading about him, to come to that conclusion.

Both players are quick, facilitate well, slash well, score well, clutch players. Paul's a better rebounder. Deron's a better finisher. Paul needs to control his emotions a little better, in getting technicals. Regardless of why he gets them, out of being a competitor, frustration, over-disagreement. I would think he'll realize he has to manage that better in the future, especially relating to the playoffs. It can't and shouldn't be an issue there.

Deron I think would definitely score more if he had a lesser, different offensive cast and system around him. Which of course the Jazz's offensive situation is better and different than the Hornets offensive team. The Hornets are solid offensively, but Utah's significantly better.

So Deron gets the edge from me, it's not by much of course, but it is there. Obviously Paul's right on Deron's level.

But as far as this comparision, it might change for me in the way of Paul being better, I don't know. Like I said, I have to see some more of Paul. Outside of reading about him and highlights, I've seen some games of him each season, aside from various bits and pieces during the season.

At this point, I think Deron's the better all-around player.

In general, they're both right with eachother, and there isn't a notable amount of seperation between the two.
