OT: Food!!!!!

Post#1 » by Julio » Tue Apr 15, 2008 11:37 am

While we are waiting for the playoffs to start,
I was thinking it would be interesting to share things about food.
Whats your favorite food???
What time do U like to eat?
Favorite fast food, if any?
Type of restaurant you like?
ect ect

Share, beacuse we all come from different culture, so it could be interesting!!

For me...
Fav food...Well..I'm like a hobbit, I love so many foods...some nice ham and eggs..some pasta with tomato or cream...I love all type of meat(nearly) and nearly all vegetables...
My fav' dessert??Tiramisu(italien blood speaking), some nice apple pie...

Time I eat??12 AM or 1 PM....and very late for the night, like 11 PM..
Fast food..I don't know if there is "kebab" in US, I like those one..of course, McDonalds, Pizza Hut are my things

And of course, I love watching ball with, say, some nice pringles..or some mexican food, even tough mexican food in France kinda sucks, I think , for anyone who has been to Mexico

Share!!!

Finally a good thread on here, thank Buddha.

My favorite foods are quite the obvious ones that only blasphemous sinners don't like: pizza, tacos(ok anything Mexican), various grilled foods such as dead cow/pig/chicken(that covers about everything worth talking about), and the finer snack foods such as pretzels, Goldfish(mm), peanuts and other assorted nuts(hehe), Cheez-Its(NOT CHEEZ DOODLES), among other equally delicious products that aren't necessary to name here.

I don't eat sweets very much but who doesn't enjoy a fine bowl of ice cream(Ben and Jerry) now and then, or the classic but always great Oreo Cookie. Anything Reese's is usually a winner as well.

Oh, these are pretty amazing too:

As far as restaraunts(not fast food), I enjoy Fuddruckers, Chili's, and any really good Mexican restaraunt(Chuy's or Margarita's), as well as just the good local steakhouses or any place that serves excellent BBQ.

Fast food is terrible but if I do eat it I usually prefer Wendy's or Jack in the Box. I can't stand McDonald's. Popeye's is fantastic, Subway and Quizno's are also great.

For pizza places, the best I've had is Greek Tony's and New York Pizzeria(http://www.nypizzeria.com/), both have incredible selections, not just pizza. Everything they have is great.

Pizza Hut isn't too shabby though if you go the more conventional route(although Domino's is utter crap).

Also, basically anything Italian is terrific so I won't bother elaborating there.

As far as when I eat, I do something crazy insane that I'm not sure has caught on yet in some areas, but I eat whenever I feel like eating. Luckily that's not all that often, but it beats having a set time for indulging in one of life's greatest pleasures.

I don't eat alot while I watch games unless it's a big game(Superbowl, Finals, etc), but it's usually fun to get together with some friends and grill some dead flesh of various animals, have a few beers, munch on some pretzels, you know, all that jazz(speaking of Jazz, this is what I'll be doing when the Rockets lose to them in the playoffs).

We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Yessss!!!
Thanks man for making my thread alive!!

But you spoke about a lot of things I don't know!
What's Goldfish?

Also, I have only been to US one time, so I don't know Jack in the Box and co..
In France, we only have Burger King, McDo, Domino's(terrible indeed) and Pizza Hut.

I don't really have a favorite food but like most people I enjoy pizza (Pizza Hut), chicken (KFC, other random chicken places), pasta with sauce, and sandwiches (Subway, Quizonos). I'm also a big time junky, I eat everything that involves salt (chips, peanuts, soda etc.) I also don't mind vegetables and fruits unlike some people and do eat a lot of rice from time to time.

Desert, probably have to go with the traditional route with ice-cream (only vanilla) and chocolate covered fudge cake.

Fast Food? I like em all, but I'm sick of McDonalds, I used to go there almost everyday for lunch since it was right across the school but the food gets real sickening when you keep on going. It can be said for anything but McDonalds tops it all. I like Jack in the Box, KFC, In and Out Burger, Subway, and some few others. I freaking love any Italian place too, breadsticks, marinara sauce and pasta haha.

During games I do not eat, flat out. Especially if we're winning, I'm far too superstitious. ;)

My friend tuck and I have a philosophy when it comes to food. We'll try anything that isn't obviously smelling like vomit or waste _twice_. I only tried hagas once, and invoked the above rule immediately.

Fast Food: You see, I'm from Hong Kong. Normal diner food actually arrives quicker than most fast food restaurants in Kansas, but the portions are substantially reduced. Being from my background there isn't much in terms of American foodstuffs that I won't imbibe in. Some of the better foods that Americans produce are of the vegan variety. Right now that's my latest kick, although I still need some boneless ribs thrown in an oven once a month or so.

And although it is fast approaching the season where soups are less suitable for the climate, American chess soups, especially with the brown ale and cheddar variety, is simply heaven.

Does anything really beat a good thai curry?

I also enjoy a quality bowl of pho or tom yum soup every now and then.

Real mexican food (not tex-mex) cannot go unmentioned.

Fast food = trash.

I am not a picky eater, but I absolutely love Asian food (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Indian, Malay, etc).

I don't really eat junk food or fast food. Brick-oven pizza is probably the worst food I consume (but that's probably about once a month). :)

Seconded on all. Thai food is incredible, and you'll find me at a Thai restaurant at least 2-4 times a week, typically. Mediterranean food is awesome as well - Spanish, Greek, etc. (Gotta plug Aladdin's, and I've heard Dimassi's is awesome as well, but haven't been there just yet). For pizza, true New York thin crust style loaded with ricotta cheese, Chicago style (I'll accept imitations on this, but not New York), anything with goat cheese, spinach, 'bello mushrooms, or everything. Hard Rock's stuffed mushrooms have had me hooked since our company Christmas party (I kindly took a fully-loaded 3 foot diameter tray from the burden of a waiter, ran back into a corner and quickshifted to chipmunk mode)

Fast food is basically dead to me (I lived off it and liked in college - ignorance is bliss), but I'll eat Jack in the Box or Taco Cabana if it's an emergency or I'm in a hurry, or McDonalds ice cream IF THEIR MACHINES EVER FREAKING WORK cause it's very light as far as ice cream goes and not too bad tasting, or Whataburger if I'm in the mood for a 3500 calorie meal. Anything else is probably made from irradiated cattle that couldn't make it past inspection because of the ribs growing out of their neck (JitB and TC are included in this, but I still tolerate them for some reason).
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

You know what... a good chinese restaurant should do this in the texas area. Basketball, beer and dim sum. 24 dollars a head and two free drinks, they could make bank.
