Great Fast Break player, to compliemnt are players.
Marion freaking the hoop from the alley from Baron.
He he opts out then a sign and trade could be done.
Maybe if he takes a pay cut for the first year while we send are TE, like what Carter did, then it increases from there, we would have to trade Harrington in order to stay out of Luxury tax.
Baron
Monta
Jax
Marion
Beans
Im off the damn we missed the playoffs blowup the team senerio.
A few tweaks could actually go along way.

I really think that Marion is not only our best option, but probably the most realistic one for several reasons:
1) He has an opt out clause
2) it's not clear that Miami wants to resign him and may prefer to say cap space.
3) Marion does not want to stay in Miami because he knows there's no chance for a ring there.
4) There could not be a play situation for Marion to play in other than Golden State which suits his game perfectly.
5) Playing with Baron and Jack would be like a dream come to for him.
6) Having Biedrens and Monta would make his job a lot simpler.
Even though I think it's the most realistic of the options mentioned, it will not be easy.
1) For one thing, it will depend on what else is out there for Miami in the way of a S & T
2) I don't think that Nellie and Riley are very good friends and thus consummating a deal won't be easy, considering both their big egos (I think that might have been part of the reaon the Pietrus deal never went through).
3) We can't/shouldn't give up any of Baron, Monta, Biedrens and even Wright which are all the players that Miami is going to want, that is why 1) will be very important. If they don't get anything that is comparable with what they think Marion is worth, they may not have a choice but to take what we offer. If that's not enough, then Marion opts out and signs a deal with us, which causes another complication, what (with Baron, resigned Biedrens and resigned Monta) will be able to give him. Would he be willing to take less of a salary for one year in order to wait until our salary drops enough to give him a long term deal? Or is the FO willing to take a big cap hit for one season in order to give us a legitimate shot for a ring in Nellie's last year?
Here's the max of what I think we should offer:
Al + Pietrus S & T + #14 pick + TPE for Blount
Can Miami get better? I'm not sure they can. PS: Miami would need to agree to this before the draft if they want our TPE. It all boils down to what Marion would do. If he opt out, he can sign with us and there's nothing that Miami can do about it. Sure they get his cap space but have no good players beyond Wad and Haslem. With this deal, they get a 2nd lottery pick and Al who I think would be a good fit with Riley, plus they get to move Blount's deadweight contract. Maybe there's a way we can somehow move POB over there. Heck, I'd include Kosta to make that deal, Then we can resign Patrick.

Why, u gave up a old rotten huge contract Shaq
Al #14 S&T Pietrus the most u can get, or u can sit back and watch him him opt out and leave
U can have O'Bryant (S & T) or Perovic (our other 7'2 center) too plus we'll give you our TPE and take Blount off your hands as well, but it would have to be done pre-draft in order for you to get our TPE.

Here is the deal that I would offer:
Part 1 TPE for Blount.
Kosta, Sign and trade POB and Pietrus, give 2008 and 2010 1sts unprotected and 2008 and 2009 2nds and sign and trade and vastly overpay Croshere to a one year deal that balances out the contract, GET IN Return Shawn Marion and Alonzo Mourning who will be a player coach who may never play if his knee does not heal.

Adding Marion without giving up anything obviously helps (adding any quality player without giving anything up helps), but your scenario doesn't work.
The TPE expires before any sign and trade deal could be done. In the far more likely option that Marion doesn't opt out he could be traded before July, but then he makes too much to use the TPE with.

I really think Marion is the only guy that would make a difference next year. He would put us in the top 4 in the west. We do have other needs, backup or maybe starting point guard, but Shawn could help change our defense mentality. Until the W's start to play some defense we are waisting out time and Marion is the right guy to get us started. Brand is a great player coming off a serious injury and he would help on the boards. Brand is risky and I would rather add someone like a Wilcox to score in the paint and board for us. This team really need a Wilcox and a Marion if they want to get anywhere.
